SUMMARY:Ural Thomas & The Pain / Ryan Sollee
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 26th \n$25 Advance // $30 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nURAL THOMAS & THE PAIN \nUniversally recognized as one of the most exciting singers remaining from the original soul era\, 82 year-old Ural Thomas and his band The Pain just released their third LP “Dancing Dimensions.” Thomas initially made his name in the 1960s with stone cold soul classic releases like “Pain Is The Name of Your Game\,” “Can You Dig It\,” “Deep Soul\,” and his 1964 recording debut with The Monterays “Push – Em Up.” After a musical journey that commenced in his native Portland\, Oregon\, and led to Los Angeles\, Cincinnati\, and New York\, sharing stages with everyone from James Brown to Stevie Wonder to Otis Redding to Etta James\, Thomas became disillusioned with the music business and returned home to the city of roses at the end of the decade – where he continues to reign as Portland’s uncontested Soul Brother Number One. In 2014 Ural met drummer/bandleader Scott Magee at a Sunday jam session he’d been hosting for decades and Ural Thomas and The Pain was born. The full showband set to work\, prolifically gigging\, touring the world\, and releasing four critically acclaimed records (two LPs and two singles) between 2015 and 2018. Despite the usual COVID-19 obstacles\, The Pain finally completed their much-anticipated third album in 2021.While “Dancing Dimensions” explores everything from sweet Chicago soul to airy West Coast psychedelia to Sly funk\, their latest collection retains the distinctive sound this well-oiled tightly-knit musical aggregation organically developed over years of relentless work. Classic yet unmistakably contemporary at the same time\, “Dancing Dimensions” is the most accurate representation of The Pain’s unique flavor\, power\, and musical breadth committed to vinyl thus far. \nRYAN SOLLEE \nAmerican singer/songwriter and musician from Anchorage\, Alaska\, currently living in Portland\, Oregon. Ryan Sollee is known mainly as the mastermind of the Portland-based folk rock/alt-country band The Builders And The Butchers.

SUMMARY:*SOLD OUT* Dean Johnson w/ Mama's Broke
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, September 25th 2026 \n$30 Advance // $35 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nDEAN JOHNSON \nWith I Hope We Can Still Be Friends\, his debut for Saddle Creek\, Dean Johnson makes a pact with the listener: He will sing you his truth in the most heartfelt and charming way possible\, if you promise to keep an open mind. \nThe title partly stems from the playful way the Seattle-based singer\, songwriter and guitarist communes with his audiences at concerts. “I hope you’re not afraid to talk to me after the show\,” he’ll say\, sweetly\, before launching into “Death of the Party\,” the album’s seventh song. Centered on the “energy vampire” archetype — the exasperating windbag we’ve all encountered at some point — its lyrics are at once intellectually biting and unmistakably hilarious. His tender voice rings out like the ghost of Roy Orbison or a misfit Everly brother. \n“Words don’t come easily to me / I notice you don’t have that problem / It sounds to me you cannot stop them\,” Johnson sings over acoustic guitar strumming\, and gentle bass and drums\, like the narrator in a dark comedy whose coming-of-age misadventures have made for an excellent film. \nJohnson spent years tending bar at Al’s Tavern in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. There\, he encountered folks of all stripes; and regulars enthusiastically murmured about his budding musical greatness — There’s the best songwriter in town! Johnson was a kind of local lore\, a long-held family secret\, before the singer finally broke out in 2023 with his debut album\, Nothing For Me Please\, at age 50. \n“‘Death of the Party’ is a great example of that\,” he says of the sociological experience of bartending. “Being in that environment\, lyrics did solidify. If I was working on a song\, it wasn’t unusual for some new aspect of it\, or a line that was too vague\, to suddenly come into focus.” \nI Hope We Can Still Be Friends is essentially an anthology that bridges Johnson’s earliest days as a songwriter with his present-day outlook and abilities. There are songs that have been in his setlists for years\, and others that will be new to fans. Each of its 11 tracks contains jocular social commentary or lovingly rendered affairs of the heart. The album’s songs about love and relationships offer another way to interpret its title: as a parting thought to an ex. \nLike all of Johnson’s cable-knit writing\, the title is a clever banner for the album’s dual nature\, the thing that binds its tragedy and comedy masks. Johnson explains that he didn’t set out to make a concept album. It’s a coincidence that about half of the album’s songs are a bit sardonic\, and the other half are more lighthearted. The singer playfully refers to the former as his “mean” songs\, which is why the album’s back cover is adorned with a warning that says “Beware of Dean.” \nLike John Prine or Kris Kristofferson’s country-adjacent sound\, devastating humor and economical profundity refracted through a barroom’s haze\, the album is filled with easygoing twang\, sad characters\, universal truths and the absurdity of everyday life. “Carol” recounts the numb consumption and dissipating cultural attention that is besieging America. There’s a search for optimism amid meditations on dying in a plane crash in “Before You Hit the Ground.” Romance that is best forgotten steers “So Much Better” — only Johnson could weave electroconvulsive therapy into a gentle\, chuckle-inducing missive on unbearable heartbreak. \nI Hope We Can Still Be Friends floats in a liminal plane between timely and timeless\, its minimalist instrumentation elevating Johnson’s affecting voice to new heights. Recorded at Unknown Studio in Anacortes\, Washington\, the record was produced by Sera Cahoone — the Seattle-based singer-songwriter Johnson describes as a “soulmate sibling.” Overdubbing took place at Seattle’s Crackle & Pop! \nFor the sessions\, Johnson assembled a small band of friends including Abbey Blackwell (bass\, backing vocals)\, multi-instrumentalist Sam Peterson and Cahoone (drums\, backing vocals)\, who created a familial tone on the already intimate album. I Hope We Can Still Be Friends\, with its sharp observations and stirring personal insights\, holds space for both intense reflection and emotional release. You may laugh\, or cry or both. In this sense\, the album is powerful medicine — a way to both expose yourself to and inoculate yourself against the ugly\, absurd\, existential and heartbreaking. At its core rests a basic truth that is often difficult to remember or accept: Happiness wouldn’t exist without sadness as its counterpart. \nOn his uncanny ability to so clearly see and then encapsulate humanity in all its messy glory\, Johnson offers this core memory\, drawn from his childhood on Camano Island in the Puget Sound. “I was raised on a bluff\,” he says. “I’m not trying to make it sound dramatic\, but I did have a sweeping view.” \nMAMA’S BROKE \nFor more than a decade\, Mama’s Broke\, the Canadian duo of Amy Lou Keeler and Lisa Maria\, have forged a style carried across landscapes rather than tied to one. Their forthcoming 12-song LP Reunion\, out August 28 via Free Dirt Records and Forward Music Group\, follows years in near-constant motion\, bringing their folk-without-borders approach to small clubs\, DIY spaces\, and everywhere in between. Winners of the Canadian Folk Music Award for Ensemble of the Year for their 2017 debut Count the Wicked\, their music is rooted in long days playing for passing crowds and traveling by foot\, as well as in the deep wells of folk lineage they’ve tapped into across Eastern Canada\, Appalachia\, Ireland\, and beyond. Their sound doesn’t belong to any one place so much as it passes through them\, grounded in the traditions that shaped it. \nThat foundation was built long before stages and studio sessions\, in traveling communities where music functioned as both currency and connection. The two met within a global network of musicians funding their way through shared songs\, carrying only what they could as they traded melodies and stories across the miles. Playing for hours at a time on the street demanded a repertoire that could hold attention and sustain emotion\, drawing them deep into traditional material and the discipline of close harmony. Over time\, the songs became a common language\, connecting what came before with the music they were making together. \nBuilding on their JUNO-nominated album Narrow Line (2022)\, Reunion reflects a world coming apart in plain sight\, tracing fractured communities\, the erosion of shared ground\, and the growing awareness that the systems we were taught to trust no longer hold or deliver the promises they were meant to keep. The songs don’t preach or prescribe; they reflect\, holding up a mirror and leaving space for something else to take shape. \nRecorded just outside Nashville in Goodlettsville\, Tennessee\, Reunion features subtle contributions from bassist Paul Kowert (Gillian Welch & David Rawlings) and others\, adding depth without pulling focus from the record’s acoustic core. At its heart\, Mama’s Broke remains what it has always been: two voices\, intertwined\, both fragile and enduring. Reunion asks what it means to make something that lasts: not a place you’re from\, or even a place you return to\, but what you make together\, and how long it lasts\, if you tend to it. \nMama’s Broke are touring their new album in North America and Europe throughout 2026 and 2027.

Stemming from an improvisational approach Kendl termed her music “mantras” because of their repetitive and hypnotic nature.

VanTuyl’s newest album Old Trails\, released in September 2025 on Fossil Records\, is peopled with characters just as concerned with the minutiae of feed trucks and fenceposts as with the enormity of their loves and longings. By overstuffing his songs with closely observed details of a modern-day cowboy’s work and life\, VanTuyl is consistently able to find the beating heart at the center of his deromanticized American West.

SUMMARY:Wanderlodge / Lewi Longmire
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 3rd\, 2026 \n$15 Advance // $18 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nWANDERLODGE \nWanderlodge hails from Portland and Joshua Tree but has spent most of its time on the road. The duo formed in 2016 with Matt Cadenelli and Kris Stuart combining their love of classic rock and country with their own tunes\, those of other favorite local songwriters\, and a taste for the sunny\, country rock sounds of LA and it’s surrounding canyons. The result is a new west coast\, country rocking gem. \nLEWI LONGMIRE \nOregon Music Hall of Fame member Lewi Longmire has built a reputation as Portland’s multi-instrumentalist “go to guy.” In the decades since relocating to Portland from Albuquerque\, New Mexico\, he’s been included on shows and recordings by many of the Northwest’s finest bands and songwriters. He’s regularly played with national acts Kassi Valazza\, Michael Hurley\, John Craigie\, TK & the Holy Know Nothings\, Alela Diane\, Victoria Williams\, Dolorean\, AgesandAges\, Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside\, the Minus 5\, Breathe Owl Breathe and Tara Jane O’Neill as well as local luminaries Denver\, The Portland Country Underground\, Midlo/Pancake Breakfast\, Barna Howard\, Fernando\, James Low\, Perhapst (Decemberists)\, Little Sue\, Casey Neill\, the Freak Mountain Ramblers\, and was an anchor member of Portland’s all-star tribute to the Allman Brothers\, Brothers and Sister\, as well as the annual local charity tribute to the Band’s Last Waltz concert. \nLewi has taken all the things he learned from working with these fine performers and when not out touring with one of them\, spends his time leading a roots rock/americana band of his own\, singing his own original compositions and some deep cut songs from some of his favorite artists. This group owes much to the American tradition of good songs played with high energy\, deep roots\, and an unpretentious sense of fun. Their sound finds the connection between the basement roots feel of The Band\, the raspy blue-eyed soul of Joe Cocker\, the desert space of Giant Sand\, the “without a net” deep space improvisations of the San Francisco ballrooms\, the punk abandon of The Stooges and the quiet contemplation of Neil Young playing solo. \nHelping achieve this are THE LEFT COAST ROASTERS\, a band of stalwart Portland musicians. Bill Rudolph (bass and vocals) played with the Crackpots and Little Sue for years\, driving their home crowd into an energetic frenzy with his low tones. Ned Folkerth (drums) has toured the world over with many groups\, including the midwest’s Pinetop Seven and Portland’s own Caleb Klauder Band\, always laying down the perfect groove to cure whatever ails ya. Dan Eccles (guitar) has most often been seen in the band Richmond Fontaine or backing up local rock legend Fernando\, as well as recording and producing records for local friends.

SUMMARY:Barn Burner: Boot Juice live music
DESCRIPTION:6pm Doors / 7pm Show\nAll Ages\nBARN BURNER shows are all about the dancing! No matter who might be on the stage\, you are guaranteed to groove.\nBOOT JUICE\nBOOT JUICE is a six-piece high-energy rock ‘n’ roll / Americana act from Northern California\, notorious for their barn-burning live shows that get entire crowds on their feet dancing: a reputation earned from recent performances at legendary venues like The Fillmore and Dillon Amphitheater\, festival sets at Treefort\, High Sierra\, and Golden Road Gathering\, and packed club shows all across America during their many years on the road.\nThe group’s fervently-anticipated fourth album\, Keeping Out Of The Ground\, exemplifies the tradition of kickass eclectic American rock ‘n’ roll: With three vocalists\, dueling acoustic and electric-guitar shredding\, a bawdy horn section\, and driving\, soulful rhythms\, the album offers everything from groovy\, danceable bangers (“Hard Time for Hard Times”\, “Slingshot”\, “Struggles”) to heavy\, show-stopping rock anthems (“Try Again Tomorrow”\, “Rise and Shine”\, “Boise”)\, and tender\, swinging ballads (“Anywhere With You”\, “Love From Here”\, “Keeping Out of the Ground”). Throughout it all\, the band sends a poignant message: Despite everything going on in the world and the hopelessness creeping in around us\, the best thing we can do is push it through\, keep ourselves out of the ground\, keep showing up for ourselves and our neighbors\, and forgive ourselves when we just need to try again tomorrow.

SUMMARY:Willie Watson & Erin Rae
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS RELEASE FRIDAY JUNE 26th at 10am! \nSaturday\, August 29th\, 2026 \n$30 Advance // $35 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nWILLIE WATSON \nSoon before Willie Watson turned 18\, he met God in an apple orchard. Or at the very least\, he met there a man named Ruby Love\, the older friend of a high-school buddy who had an enormous Martin guitar and a seemingly bigger understanding of the American folk songbook. Watson was existentially thirsty: A high-school dropout from upstate New York’s Finger Lakes\, he was fast on his way to his first heartbreak and in a first band that didn’t take itself seriously enough. But that night in an apple orchard that had always seemed magical\, at a graduation party for one of his bandmates and best friends\, Watson and Love sang a few of those old songs together—“Worried Man Blues” and “Tennessee Waltz.” It was the first time Watson had cried while singing\, the first time he had made the connection between making music and making sense of his life. He never saw Ruby Love again\, but within months of that foundational 1997 rendezvous\, he met the musicians with whom he’d soon start Old Crow Medicine Show. Call it revelation\, fate\, resurrection\, whatever you will; for Watson\, more than a quarter-century later\, it was a duet with the divine. \nAs told in the talking-gospel masterpiece “Reap ’em in the Valley\,” that scene is the transfixing finale of Watson’s self-titled debut as a songwriter and as a human at last making music to make sense of his life. Yes\, Watson has released two albums since he left Old Crow Medicine Show a dozen years ago and since his long-term collaborations with David Rawlings and Gillian Welch. \nBut those records\, both titled Folk Singer\, were sets of tunes he knew\, interpretations of the songbook he has diligently mined since even before that night in the apple orchard. At 44\, however\, he feels that Willie Watson is his first-ever true album\, having finally lived and lost and simply witnessed enough to know he has something to sing with his exquisite rural tenor. Watson has not abandoned those old songs entirely. He dazzles during a robust take on the forever-curious “Mole in the Ground” and treats “Harris and the Mare\,” the standard of tragic Canadian singer Stan Rogers\, with total tenderness. But by and large\, these are his stories of heartbreak and hurt\, backlit by the corona of hope that only growth can provide. \nEvery memory\, Watson likes to say\, is surrounded by a shroud of sadness\, whether it’s good or bad. And there are lots of memories in a life\, all mixed: Though the band he started soon after that night with Ruby Love long gave him a purpose and career\, it conscripted him into a role as an old-fashioned folkie\, forever stuck playing a part that got tiring. Marriage and fatherhood became boons in their own time\, but they kept him bound to Los Angeles\, its sprawl and selfishness causing a country boy like Watson to lose himself again. And there was the stereotypical excess of it all\, too\, the habits of hard living nearly breaking Watson in his 30s. \nBut after he lost those relationships\, he slowly got sober and faced himself head on\, working to be honest about the traumas of his childhood that had helped create the troubles of adulthood. Sobriety\, though\, was never enough for Watson. He wanted that shift to prompt change and growth\, to force him into situations that were beneficial because they were uncomfortable and challenging. That\, in many ways\, is the motivation of these nine songs and the only album he’s ever felt deserved to bear his name. \nIn 2020\, Watson began convening with Morgan Nagler\, an actress and songwriter he’d met years earlier through Rawlings. They’d discuss an idea and then often sit in silence\, scratching away at it separately as Watson wriggled around on a couch\, as if wrestling with his past in the real time of the present. Sometimes playful and sometimes persecuted\, the songs that emerged looked \nbackward to move ahead\, dealing with disappointments in phrases of crisp rhyme and sly wordplay. \nA post-pandemic solo tour had left Watson feeling drained by the idea of being some standalone entertainer\, onstage alone taming crowds who had forgotten how to listen amid extended isolation. He knew he wanted a band for these songs\, but he understood they only needed to be the framing beneath them\, supporting rather than distracting from these reckonings with self. Alongside producers Kenneth Pattengale and Gabe Witcher\, respectively of Milk Carton Kids and Punch Brothers\, Watson assembled a modest ensemble of aces who were largely new to him but would respond to the songs intuitively and without intrusion—bassist Paul Kowert\, guitarist Dylan Day\, drummer Jason Boesel\, fiddler Sami Braman. (Careful listeners may note cameos from Benmont Tench and Sebastian Steinberg\, too.) Start to finish\, these songs sound like moments of mutual discovery\, the entire group arriving together to look at Watson’s life and realize something about and for themselves. \n“Real Love” harkens back to those days in rural New York\, with Watson opening himself to the wreckage that comes with falling for someone for the first time. He is fragile but resolute here\, pressing on in spite of vestigial pain. “Sad Song” thrums like some muted and modern Jimmie Rodgers number\, as Watson tries to play-act happiness one more time for a society that’s just wanted him to grin and sing. Echoing the rippling and beautiful despair of Gordon Lightfoot\, the gorgeous “Play It One More Time” examines the fleeting salve of music itself\, or how the help it gives us can fade when we’re not truly hearing. \nAnd then there’s the hotrod acoustic opener\, “Slim and the Devil\,” a wits-sharp adaptation of the Sterling A. Brown poem “Slim Greer in Hell.” After being disgusted by the imagery of white nationalists taking over the streets of Charlottesville\, Watson pulled a book called “The Black Poets” off his shelf\, and the first page he opened was Brown’s poem. The story of a Faustian bargain made with St. Peter at the pearly gates in exchange for one more earthly adventure\, it’s a sly contemplation of the meaningless deals we make to endure when we all know what’s inevitable. For Willie\, the story is second to the honor aimed at the poet himself “because history has told me that all the people in his position have been robbed by white folk artists and completely cast aside.” And then there is “Already Gone\,” a devastating if elegant survey of the damage we leave behind as we make bad choices\, as we force people to leave our lives. “There’s no hearts to break here\,” Watson offers before the knockout. “They’re already gone.” \nThese days\, Watson looks askance at his old reputation and knows other people do\, too. “‘I thought you were just some nice little singer who sang in the little fucking cowboy hat\,’” he deadpans\, characterizing the perception he knows he has in many ways courted. And he recognizes that people probably don’t think he can write his own songs of meaning and depth\, since he spent so long reworking those of others. For a long time\, he bought that\, too. But the hat is off\, as is the desire to be a mere entertainer or interpreter. The nine songs on Willie Watson find a bona fide songwriter dealing with the difficulties of his past to suggest a renewed future; what’s more\, he uses his keen and expansive understanding of an old lexicon to add his own new entries to it. As with the best folk songs\, you will recognize your own burdens here. As with the best folk singers\, you will feel compelled to sound them out\, too. Who knows\, maybe you’ll even meet God in an apple orchard. \nERIN RAE \nSince the release of her critically acclaimed 2018 debut Putting On Airs\, Erin Rae has emerged as one of Nashville’s foremost singer-songwriters. Rae’s most recent release\, 2022’s Lighten Up\, found her in a period of intense evolution. Both personally and musically\, teaming up with new collaborators like Jonathan Wilson\, Kevin Morby and Hand Habits. The resulting album\, which earned praise from Pitchfork\, Rolling Stone\, NPR Music and more\, took listeners on a swelling journey through psychedelia\, cosmic country and Topanga Canyon-inspired indie-folk. In 2019\, Rae was nominated for Emerging Act of The Year at the Americana Music Awards and in 2023 she earned the “Jim James Award” for most sit-ins at Newport Folk Festival\, guesting during sets from Margo Price & Friends\, Slaughter Beach Dog\, Brittany Howard\, Mavis Staples\, and more. She has also supported tours for Gregory Alan Isakov\, Ray La Montagne\, Angel Olsen\, Hiss Golden Messenger\, Jenny Lewis\, Jason Isbell\, Iron & Wine\, Lord Huron\, Julia Jacklin\, Father John Misty\, and more.

SUMMARY:Horse Feathers / The Hackles
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, August 27th\, 2026 \nTICKETS RELEASE FRIDAY\, JUNE 5th at 10AM! \n$25 Advance // $30 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nHORSE FEATHERS \nIn 2026\, Horse Feathers’ debut album\, Words Are Dead\, celebrates its 20th anniversary. Kill Rock Stars is set to release a deluxe reissue that will be completely remastered and pressed on an exclusive vinyl color. It will include a replica of their original six-song demo CD in the package\, along with a deluxe foil-stamped LP jacket. \nTo support the release\, Horse Feathers’ current ensemble of Justin Ringle (guitar\, vocals\, banjo)\, Nathan Crockett (violin\, saw)\, Halli Anderson of River Whyless (violin\, vocals)\, Kati Claborn of Blind Pilot (banjo\, vocals\, clarinet)\, and Luke Ydstie also of Blind Pilot (bass\, cello\, vocals) faithfully recreate the mood of the original release with taut dynamics and sensitive arrangements. \nIn the years following Words Are Dead\, Horse Feathers quietly built a body of work defined by patience and evolution rather than reinvention. Records like House With No Home\, Thistled Spring\, and Cynic’s New Year expanded their sonic palette without abandoning the restraint that first set them apart. By the time of Appreciation\, the band had begun to open its sound outward\, introducing richer arrangements and a subtle warmth that suggested growth without rupture. Through it all\, Ringle remained a steady center\, writing songs that favored emotional precision over spectacle. \nThe reissue of Words Are Dead does not attempt to rewrite that history. Instead\, it brings the origin point back into focus\, offering a rare chance to hear where it all began while recognizing how far the project has traveled since. \nRevisiting the album now\, with two decades of distance\, reveals not just a beginning but a foundation. The same careful interplay\, the same attention to space and tone\, still anchors the band’s work today. In that sense\, the reissue feels less like a retrospective and more like a continuation. A reminder that some records do not age so much as they wait for the right moment to be heard again. \nTHE HACKLES \nThe Hackles are a folk collaboration from Astoria\, Oregon\, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean.Comprised of Kati Claborn\, Luke Ydstie\, and Halli Anderson\, the band is slated to release their fourth full-length album\, I’ve Got Sugar\, Who’s My Neighbor? in the fall of 2026. \nPowerful harmonies and an unconventional and nuanced use of guitar\, violin\, banjo and clarinet combine to create a compelling and unique brand of folk that lies somewhere between Appalachia and Topanga Canyon. The songs are imbued with compassion\, humor and a dark honesty. \nThe trio have a decade’s-plus worth of touring under their belts nationally and internationally as The Hackles and as members of Horsefeathers\, Blind Pilot (Claborn & Ydstie)\, and River Whyless (Anderson). \n“Highly refined songwriting & awe-inspiring harmonies”- Rough Trade \n“Intelligent\, highly-melodic song-writing with infectious instrumental hooks\, perfectly offset by sumptuous harmonies”- David Pratt\, Folk Radio UK

SUMMARY:Bart Budwig (full band) / Bryan John Appleby
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, August 20th\, 2026 \n$15 Advance // $20 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nBART BUDWIGBart Budwig is a son of Idaho\, a cosmic country crooner\, a rousing trumpet player\, and cryin’-style soul singer. His music is made up of seemingly incongruous parts; thrum & strum country rhythms\, jazz guitar melodies\, R&B vocals. When Bart sings he draws out words into meditative mantras\, whole note neologisms that keep you hanging on until his raspy voice trails off in a ragged edge. His forthcoming album\, Another Burn On The AstroTurf (January 24\, 2020\, Fluff and Gravy Records) was recorded over five days by a seven-piece band inside the OK Theater. It’s a melancholy rhapsody that recalls the uncorked rock n’ roll spirituality of king mystic Van Morrison\, the gloomy nostalgia of dark prince Nick Drake and the songcraft sans self-seriousness of 70s Muscle Shoals. \nLike those psycho-spiritual song crafters\, his power comes from vocal idiosyncrasies – intonations of love\, impermanence\, hope\, humor. The album opens with Budwig originals “Time For Two”\, “First To Go”\, and “Strong Coffee”– originally presented with just solo guitar (and crackling wood stove) on the album Sabai. The songs are recorded here live\, full band\, in medley\, with hot electric guitar\, woody double bass\, and drums. The band electrifies and scourges the flesh of the songs into fully formed folk rock stunners. \nThere is what the Romans called a “divine lustre” about Bart Budwig. His blonde hair and beard wrap around his collar\,and frame his smile in a nimbus of gold. His radiance belies the loyalty he commands of an army of talent. He’d sooner tell you a joke than reveal to you he’s recorded dozens of albums and hundreds of songs in the last few years. Bart’s mastery of dramatic irony turns his work with complex emotional states of being into comforting\, uplifting\, relatable music. \nIt’s this ability to combine tragedy and comedy in his humanist hallelujahs that makes Budwig a gravitational force and industry chimera. The studio general\, the clown prince\, the sensitive songwriter with a rugged voice. The soul singer with a cosmic country band. The creator of a folk universe drawing musicians from everywhere to the middle of nowhere. It’s this juxtaposition that makes Another Burn On The AstroTurfanother success for Bart Budwig\, and a must listen for you. – Sean Jewell \nBRYAN JOHN APPLEBY \nBryan John Appleby has been writing\, recording\, and performing original music for almosttwo decades. Based in Seattle\, his folk-centric body of work incorporates breezy mid century pop\, intricate fingerpicking\, lush cinematic layers\, and lyrics that often evoke hisCentral Coast origins. \nHis latest full-length\, Underwater Easy Breathing\, exemplifies his distinct productionpalette. Oceanic and synth-laced\, the album is a natural next step in his wandering\, oftendensely layered repertoire. Previous works include The Narrow Valley (2015)\, a maximalistconcept album drenched in dreamy\, orchestral elements and experimental sounds\, andFire on the Vine (2011)\, a darker collection with more conventional folk structures andorganic instrumentation. \nWith a house show tour circuit taking him throughout the Western States\, Appleby has shared the stage with artists such as Damien Jurado\, Deep Sea Diver\, Tomo Nakayama\, YLa Bamba\, Shaina Shepherd\, Dean Johnson\, and Sera Cahoone and many others.

SUMMARY:Bonnie Paine / Alexis Mahler
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 8\, 2026 \n$23 Advance // $28 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nBONNIE PAINE \nBonnie Paine is a luminous force in contemporary roots music\, known for performances that feel both intimate and electrifying. Celebrated as the ethereal voice and multi-instrumentalist behind Elephant Revival\, Bonnie has captivated audiences with her unique songwriting on cello\, musical saw\, guitar and various percussion instruments; from big calf skin bass drums to djembe\, to her signature snared electric washboard and stomp box. She has shaped a sound that blends Americana\, Indie Art Rock\, Acoustic Folk\, Alternative and Celtic influences into something deeply transportive and soul-stirring. \nOn May 8\, 2026\, Bonnie steps into a new light with the release of her highly anticipated debut solo album\, Unseen\, weaving together an intimate collection of melodies that are as haunting as they are restorative. \nHer songs carry a rare kind of authenticity- earthy yet ethereal\, grounded yet expansive. Her voice moves effortlessly from tender vulnerability to soaring\, spine-tingling power. There’s a natural\, almost elemental quality to her singing\, as though it rises from the landscapes that inspire her. Whether delivering a hushed ballad or an impassioned anthem\, she invites listeners into a space of reflection\, connection\, and awe. \nBorn in the Oklahoma countryside and rooted in the mountains of Colorado\, Bonnie’s songwriting is deeply influenced by the geography of the heart and the natural world. Her sound is richly layered yet beautifully uncluttered\, allowing harmonies and acoustic textures to breathe. Lyrics unfold poetically\, creating music that feels like a journey through both inner and outer landscapes. In every note\, Bonnie Paine radiates sincerity and creative courage. Her artistry doesn’t just entertain\, it uplifts\, awakens\, and reminds listeners of the quiet magic woven through everyday life. \nAs a multi-instrumentalist\, her performances feel alive and organic. There’s a sense of joyful spontaneity in the way she inhabits the stage\, balancing playful charisma with deep emotional presence. Bonnie’s concerts move like a living soundtrack: part stripped down vulnerability\, part slow-burn crescendo\, part rhythmic propulsion. \nWhile she has long been a collaborative force in the indie-folk scene\, she has shared that her most fleshed-out musical concepts come to her in solitude. Now\, that inner world takes center stage. Marking a major milestone in her career\, this new chapter invites listeners into an intimate\, evocative space where her warmly haunting vocals and intricate arrangements\, refined through years of world travel and creative exploration\, finally find a home of their very own. \nALEXIS MAHLER \nLike a late summer bloom casting shadows in the sunlight\, Alexis Mahler’s singular voice creates moments that are precious and delicate; heart-breaking and soul warming. \nMichigan-made\, and classically trained\, Mahler has made a musical home for herself in Portland\, Oregon. Quieting rooms with her intimate blend of classical\, jazz\, and folk – she has endeared herself to audiences across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Her music contains thoughtful\, elegant strings layered with memorable\, and sweetly delivered vocal melodies. In her own words: “Music should be connective\, accessible\, expressive\, expansive\, often imperfect\, healing – a release”. \nBetween teaching private music lessons and performing\, Mahler can be found doing session work for songwriters\, both local and long-distance. Over the years she has collaborated with Matt Costa\, Sleater-Kinney\, Mayer Hawthorne\, Jacob Miller\, Shook Twins\, Cyrus Nabipoor\, Integer\, Whitney\, Erisy Watt\, Hanna Haas\, and many others.

SUMMARY:*SOLD OUT* Apocalypse\, Never! Tour Nick Shoulders / Kassi Valazza
DESCRIPTION:**Tickets Presale release Wednesday April 8 at 10am!** \nFriday\, August 7th\, 2026 \n$28 Advance // $35 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nNICK SHOULDERS \nRefugia Blues\, the fifth album from Nick Shoulders\, is a record of big ideas and small\, intimate moments. \nThese nine songs are rooted in the stylings of Southern traditional music. Sparse\, timeless\, and unamplified\, they’re older than the sounds Shoulders saluted on albums like 2023’s All Bad\, with its loud\, whooping anthems for roadhouses and sweaty dancehalls. Here\, Shoulders isn’t shouting over a band. He isn’t bringing a crowd to its feet with dance-ready tempos. Rather\, he’s exploring another side of his craft by stepping up to a ribbon microphone as a solo performer\, delivering each song with acoustic instruments and a voice that’s equal parts country croon\, Appalachian yodel\, and high-lonesome field holler. As he explains it\, Refugia Blues isn’t just a call to action; it’s a call to rest\, too. \n“This is my Nebraska\,” he says\, nodding to Bruce Springsteen’s lo-fi acoustic record from 1982. “Some people listen to Bruce for the E Street Band and the big radio hits\, but I like the intimacy and rawness of Nebraska instead. I’d like to think of Refugia Blues as a little window into the heart\, as opposed to the drumbeat of a revolution.” \nEven so\, Refugia Blues resolutely pushes for change. Shoulders’ interpretation of American roots music has always been more progressive and punky than the trucks-and-beers conservatism that passes for modern-day country\, and he isn’t checking his activism at the door anytime soon. Refugia Blues does dive into personal territory\, from “Bored Fightin'” (a self-effacing look at Shoulders’ reputation as a left-of-center radical) to the heart-on-sleeve love song “Tatum Spring\,” but it balances the micro with the macro\, too. Topics like climate collapse\, radical anthropology\, generative disruption\, and southern identity run throughout the record\, adding weight to Shoulders’ melodies\, balancing his witty humor with topical weight. The purpose\, he says\, is to utilize his music as “a Trojan Horse that can be accepted by people who don’t hear anything to challenge their sense of comfort and superiority. That’s always been the goal — to say what needs to be said\, but to intersperse it with joy\, humor\, and melody.” \nIt’s a balance that Shoulders has struck in the past\, but never so nakedly alone as he does on the opening track\, “Apocalypse Never.” He wrote the a cappella ballad in the front seat of his band’s shuttle bus\, taking a hard look at each passing town\, noting all the “individualized apocalypses” — houseless encampments\, impoverished communities\, barren cornfields — that unfolded on the other side of the windshield. “Our world has been through countless apocalypses\,” he says. “The refusal to give in to the direness of our circumstances\, while still acknowledging it\, is key to surviving this moment in our history.” \nFor Shoulders\, singing isn’t just a passion; it’s practically a birthright. Born to a musical family with deep roots in Arkansas\, Appalachia\, and Louisiana\, he grew up listening to old-world folk music\, black gospel\, and other sounds that existed long before genres were even invented. “My vocal style is rooted as much in growing up in mountainous Arkansas and having to shout across vast distances to greet my neighbors as it is in my family’s very old way of singing\,” he says. “The way I sing is older than capitalism. Being part of this tradition isn’t meant to be regressive; it’s meant to be liberating. There were time before cash registers and factories\, where people sang like this when they sowed their corn\, and I’m trying to embody that.” \nRefugia Blues was recorded in a home studio outside of Fayetteville\, Arkansas. Tracked to analog tape in two inspired days and laced with light touches of guitar\, banjo\, and fiddle\, the album explores the slower\, softer textures of Shoulders’ music without pulling any punches. On his bare-boned cover of Randy Travis’ “Diggin’ Up Bones\,” he slows down the uptempo classic to a warbling waltz. On “Deux Hurry\,” he taps into his inner Roger Miller\, using wordplay to make light of the darkness that lives within all of us. On “Hill Folk\,” he nods sympathetically to the southerners who’ve witnessed their cultural inheritance become commodified and commercialized over the past half-century. And on the brave\, bold “Dixie Be Damned\,” he sings about “manifest destitution” and the sickness of contemporary American consciousness\, packaging everything into a three-and-a-half minute country gem that’s as tuneful as it is topical. \nBy bridging the gap between past and present\, Shoulders speaks pointedly and poetically about today’s problems\, even as he nods to styles that existed long before the 21st century. “When you listen to the origins of country music in the ’20s and ’30s\, you’re hearing the voice of southern rural dissent against coal companies\, repression\, and depression\,” he says. “The old ballad singers of the Ozarks were conduits for current events\, documenting not only their own lives\, but also dispossession and economic strife on a much bigger scale. Being part of that great stream of rural protest music is something I’m trying to tap into. I want to say things that feel timeless\, deep\, and rooted\, but also touch on topics like endless war and a government collapsing into dictatorship. I want to be part of that tradition of dissent.” \nAt once academic and accessible\, Refugia Blues isn’t just a deep dive into southernness\, but also into Shoulders himself. Released during an era of big-budget country-pop smashes\, it stands tall as something else entirely: a raw\, resolute version of American country music\, punctuated with humor and heavy insights\, stacked high with songs that go down easy but linger in the minds of those willing to invest the time. \nKASSI VALAZZA \n“Sometimes it takes four or five tries to realize something just isn’t working\,” says Kassi Valazza. “I wrote this after my thirteenth try.” She’s referring to the song “Roll On” specifically\, but the stagnating pull of repeating patterns—and the brutalizing work of breaking them—inform every song on her new album From Newman Street. “In songwriting and in life\, you can’t keep expecting the same thing to work every time.” \nValazza grew up between Prescott and Phoenix\, Arizona. She penned her first song at age ten but in those early efforts to perform\, found herself halted by stage fright of a clinical level. “I’ve gone to therapy for it\,” she says\, half-laughing. She didn’t stop writing music but she let less paralyzing means of expression lead the way\, eventually enrolling in arts school for painting\, an illustrative instinct that inevitably reveals itself in her vivid songwriting. It wasn’t until she relocated to the Pacific Northwest as an adult that Valazza picked back up the proverbial—and actual—guitar. \n“Zach Bryson was kind of like the honky tonk ambassador of Portland when I got there\,” Valazza says. “He was so welcoming and encouraging.” She discovered an inspiring\, supportive artistic community\, a less rigid relationship with musical output\, and then—vocal nodules. “It was actually kind of the best thing that could have happened\, because I learned about the crossover of physical and mental that takes place in performance.” Recovery entailed recognizing the reflexive functions of the voice in response to anxiety; as is the case throughout the human body\, stress reactions can be damaging. “Because I suddenly understood what was happening with my voice\, I could handle it\, wield it. I felt more confident.” Valazza recorded an album with Bryson in an old-house-turned-studio. It was an informal\, friendly endeavor\, though not at all small. “I think probably thirty people contributed\,” she says. “I listen back to that album and I think ‘this was me learning how to do this.’ I can hear that moment in time.” \nValazza’s debut Dear Dead Days fused the Southwest’s rustic romance with the Pacific Northwest’s rocky realism and garnered Valazza a cult following. She landed a deal with Fluff & Gravy\, a label known for launching earthy\, emerging treasures like Anna Tivel and Margo Cilker\, and toured with folk favorites including Melissa Carper and Riddy Arman. Her sophomore album Kassi Valazza Knows Nothing followed\, a glimmering set of sonic talismans among Ann Powers’ Favorite Songs of 2023 for NPR and Bandcamp’s Best Country Music of 2023\, with praise from KEXP\, Uncut\, MOJO\, and Brooklyn Vegan to boot. \nBy the time Valazza was ready to record her third album\, she had spent a decade in Portland—and that\, she realized\, was enough. “As someone with anxiety\, I always want to know what’s going to happen\,” she says. “But knowing can be limiting. Getting comfortable with the uncomfortable\, that’s growth. That’s what this album’s about\, really.” \nOn “Weight of the Wheel\,” a weepy slide guitar underscores Valazza’s listless lament: All things look the same / From the pillow on my bed / I’m stressed out I’m far away / There’s dizzy dancing in my head. The song sounds like urgency\, grief\, surrender\, and embrace—all at once. It’s feeling like some kind of fight to outgrow / The way I fear slowing down before I’m old. By 2022\, that dizzy demise of cyclical living had set Valazza still—in a basement apartment there in Portland. “You’re going to be a different person after every album\,” she says. “And you have to keep moving forward.” \nSights set on Nashville\, Valazza landed in New Orleans. “It wasn’t the plan. I spent three months there between tours\, and it just kind of happened.” The bright newness of The Big Easy illuminated fresh inspirations and unexpected love. But it also cast a stark light on Valazza’s sense of self; in a new place\, you can see more clearly what you want to be\, as well as what you haven’t been. “I discovered the less likeable parts of myself in that time\,” Valazza says. Album standout “Your Heart’s a Tin Box” encapsulates precisely this\, with a cynical-yet-sunny likeness to Joni Mitchell and lyrical acuity: I moved down to New Orleans / Thinking love would reappear / But people tell you everything / but what you wanna hear / You relied on fixated company / Now you’re drowning in your ego’s gluttony. The patterns of her Portland life had stalled Valazza. It wasn’t the city’s fault so much as the natural consequence of complacency\, the stagnance that comes with too much of the same. Valazza knew she was due for a personal evolution\, and when faced with those innate\, bristling pangs of change\, could soothe herself with that certainty. \nThe track sequence on From Newman Street is audibly intentional—from a deep lull and dull itch\, to a barbed clash with cognitive dissonance\, to humble submission\, and an ultimate\, open-armed acceptance of new life. Poetically enough\, half the songs on the upcoming album were written in Portland\, the other half in New Orleans. Valazza returned to her former hometown to record with Matt Thomson at Echo Echo Studios\, and titled the release From Newman Street in tribute to an apartment she lived in deeply and left with heavy heart. The album is as much a fond farewell as it is a fervent step forward. \nValazza made the official move to New Orleans in February of 2024. “Coming from placid\, wintry Portland straight into Mardi Gras—I would not recommend it.” She recalls the time with humor\, grace\, and sensitivity for her past self\, qualities that shine through the album. “I’ve always been a believer that music is only good if it’s really raw\, really honest—probably coming from a place of hurt\,” Valazza admits. “But I’m trying to embrace chaos these days\, and bring a little more light into my life.”

SUMMARY:Esther Rose / Sharon Silva & Erisy Watt
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, August 6th\, 2026 \n$23 Advance // $28 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nESTHER ROSE \nEsther Rose was on a long solo drive when she started writing the opening title track of Want\, her stunning fifth album. At first\, the words seemed almost like a joke\, something to keep herself amused as the miles passed. “I want a puppy\, but I don’t want a mess. I want to know where I’m going without GPS\,” she sang from behind the wheel. Soon\, the idea snowballed into a list of desires that spanned existential\, spiritual\, and mundane; romantic to platonic to familial; at once wildly ambitious yet piercingly relatable; all set to a catchy melody that blends her pop instincts with country storytelling and the raw immediacy of a basement punk show. In other words\, she was on her way to another classic Esther Rose song. \nThis precise blend has made the Santa Fe-based artist one of her generation’s most beloved songwriters: someone whose live shows are known to conclude in mass tears and group hugs. Still\, something was different this time. “For me\, these songs felt like revelations\,” she explains\, comparing the 11-song record to a memoir\, alive with kinetic storytelling and personal insight. In its newly direct and stirringly nuanced writing\, you’ll hear about rock bottom encounters\, shifting relationships with substances\, evolving perspectives on adult partnership\, and\, as evidenced by those early lines in “Want\,” a few jokes along the way. Vivid and bracing\, Want places you in the passenger seat while each of these feelings arrive. \nTo match the multi-dimensional tone of the writing\, Rose has made the most adventurous\, hardest-hitting record of her career. Working with producer Ross Farbe and recording live-to-tape in Nashville’s Bomb Shelter\, she travels as far as she’s been from the stripped-down classic country of celebrated early work like 2017’s This Time Last Night and 2019’s You Made It This Far. Following the wide-open serenity of 2023’s momentous Safe to Run\, she now leans toward confrontational arrangements full of distortion and full-band spontaneity\, never sacrificing a classicist’s gift for melody that makes each song instantly memorable. \n“Making this album was the most beautiful experience of my life\,” Rose explains\, describing the euphoria of sharing these intimate stories among trusted collaborators like guitarist Kunal Prakash\, drummer Howe Pearson\, bassist Gina Leslie\, and pedal steel player John James Tourville. She also enlisted friends like singer-songwriter Dean Johnson (who duets in the stunning “Scars”) and New Orleans rock band Video Age (who she co-wrote “tailspin” with) to flesh out her vision. Ranging from stark solo performances to grungy blowouts\, the album maintains a steady focus while never staying too long in one place. (Like David Bowie\, Rose would arrive at the studio in carefully chosen outfits to set the tone for each session\, guiding her bandmates to follow the mood.) \nTo reach this level of confidence\, Rose had to recalibrate her entire relationship with music. When she concluded the tour for Safe to Run\, she considered quitting altogether\, feeling exhausted and depleted\, seeing no way to continue at her relentless pace. But after quitting drinking and finding new momentum in therapy\, she devoted herself to the new material\, letting ideas flow without worrying about the final product. She considered making an electro-pop album; a self-titled acoustic record. Eventually\, she began categorizing her disparate ideas under the working title The Therapy LP. \n“There are things that I have tiptoed around in my writing—and in my life—that I wasn’t ready to look at\,” she reflects\, “and now I’m going for it.” The results are breakthroughs like “Had To” and “Rescue You” that tether her tightly structured melodies to narratives that bring distressing subject matter down to earth. And where her love songs in the past often found universal resonance in simple questions about heartbreak\, these ones explore complex subjects like accountability and true connection: “Baby\, I’ve got scars that you cannot see/Love them for what they gave to me\,” she sings boldly in “Scars.” \nThis level of vulnerability is new from Esther Rose—a vow to be known more fully by her audience\, herself\, and the people in her life. “Each time I write a new album\, I go a little deeper\,” she says. “For me\, it’s been very challenging to stay… I’m always packing the Subaru in my mind.” And while she can still craft a road song like nobody else—“Two days on the highway\, solo drive/Today is the greatest day of my life\,” she sings in “tailspin”—she now searches for stability\, even when that means confronting internal chaos. The album’s closing song\, titled “Want Pt. 2\,” returns Rose to her old hometown of New Orleans during Mardi Gras\, watching a Rolling Stones cover band in a bar she frequented back in the day. She’s teary-eyed\, surrounded by loved ones\, finding new profundity in a shaky rendition of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” As she reflects on the scene—even interpolating some of the Stones’ lyrics and melodic cues—her friends provide celebratory backing vocals as the band thrashes away. It’s a fitting finale for the strongest\, widest-reaching album of her career—a moment when the past\, present\, and future collide\, a panorama of emotions\, the kind of party you never want to leave. \nSHARON SILVA AND ERISY WATT \nSharon Silva and Erisy Watt are heading out together this summer\, playing a run of West Coast shows from Seattle down through the California coast and desert. \nBoth Los Angeles–based musicians\, they bring distinct voices united by a shared love of songwriting and performing live. Sharon\, a founding member of The Wild Reeds\, writes songs that blend indie rock\, folk\, and Americana while often exploring themes of grief\, personal growth\, and relationships. Her debut solo album\, Underachiever\, traces her journey from arriving in Los Angeles as a teenager through years of touring\, the loss of loved ones\, and the peace that comes from learning to lean on yourself. \nDescribed by No Depression as “what contemporary folk sounds like at its peak\,” Erisy Watt writes songs that move between quiet contemplation and playful curiosity. Her latest album\, not either or but everything\, explores connection\, impermanence\, and adaptation\, drawing in part from the decade she spent teaching ecological field courses throughout Southeast Asia. \nThough their paths to Los Angeles were different—Sharon arriving as a teenager from a small agricultural town in Central California\, Erisy by way of Nashville\, Santa Barbara\, and Portland—both have spent the better part of the past decade writing\, recording\, touring\, and building community through music. \nThey met over drinks one winter evening earlier this year\, sketched out a rough tour route on a cocktail napkin\, and decided to take their songs on the road together. Each evening will feature solo performances from both artists\, moments of accompaniment\, and a full band at several of the shows.

Mitchell’s songs are equal parts clever\, quick-witted and heartbreakingly confessional\, (oftentimes all at once) translating well both in attentive listening rooms and rowdy rock halls. If ‘The Band’ took a road trip to Laurel Canyon and pulled their tour bus over to pick up John Prine hitching his way down the pacific coastline\, their rolling jam sessions might sound a little like Matt Mitchell Music Co.

SUMMARY:The Builders & The Butchers / Sunbathe / Nice Boat
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, July 24th\, 2026 \n$20 Advance // $25 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nTHE BUILDERS & THE BUTCHERS \nIt’s been four years since Portland\, Oregon’s The Builders and the Butchers released their sixth studio album\, Hell & High Water. That album received rave reviews and led to sold out shows – including opening for The Dead South at 3\,000 capacity venues across the U.S.Their 2026 album No Tomorrow was produced and recorded by multi-instrumentalist bandmate Ray Rude at his own Laundry Room Studio. It will be released on April 9th\, 2026 via Badman Recording Co. \nThe Builders and the Butchers’ vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Ryan Sollee states\, “it’s been an unexpected privilege to create and perform live music for over 20 years as a ramshackle band. We never could have imagined the cultural\, political and social changes that have occurred in that time. Through the rapid deterioration ofhuman connection\, the denial of environmental destruction\, and inept greed based leadership we still find joy.We find connection through creation. For us\, making and performing music is a way to bring humanity to a world bent on destroying it.” \nThe band has had over 100\,000 monthly listeners on Spotify for years now.Several of their videos have millions of views on You Tube – including “Bringin’ Home the Rain” with 19 million views. They are well known for their energized live performances and have dedicated fans that travel long distances to see them play. \n“As our lives become more digital\, people are sharing physical spaces less and less. The creation and performance of live music is an ever crucial\, consistent\, and communal space. In these spaces people can share the sounds\, sights and smells of what it’s like to be moved in unison and feel connection\,” says Sollee. \nWith glowing album and show reviews coming from Pitchfork and The Wall Street Journal\, among others\, their brand of folk-rock is best served live. Audiences can look forward to lively performances\, where fourth wall is broken and the audience is able to participate in call and response sing-a-longs. Sometimes the band will hand out instruments for fans to play\, and they’ll even get down off stage to perform right on the floor. \n“The songs for No Tomorrow were written with our cultural changes and challenges in mind. The overarching message is that we can find hope in each other and still lead lives full of joy and creativity even when systems and leaders fail us.We believe we have much more that unites us\, than divides us and that music is one of the best ways to create a connected shared experience for people.Live rock and roll is a church for the non-religious and religious alike. We would love to see you at a show\, shake your hand\, give you a hug\, and talk with you.We are forever grateful to you: our strange\, unique\, amazing fans. We are thrilled to share this album with you and hope it brings some light into the darkness\,” remarks Sollee. \n“The members of The Builders And The Butchers have specialized in a kind of white-knuckle Americana: Their acoustic folk-rock sound is shot through with nervy\, hellfire-and-brimstone intensity. The Portland-born band’s hometown brethren in The Decemberists provide a useful reference point — singer Ryan Sollee has a wide-open bellow and a gift for vivid imagery.” – Stephen Thompson\, NPR Music \n“The Builders and the Butchers make records the way the bards used to pass on stories. They’re poetic and captivating\, and do to songwriting what Clint Eastwood does to movies\,” and this [new record] follows the same\, narrative-driven path.” – Consequence of Sound \nSUNBATHE \nSunbathe is a guitar-pop band from Portland\, Oregon\, formed in 2015 by songwriter Maggie Morris. Known for her ethereal vocals and introspective songwriting\, Morris radiates the smarts and edge of Liz Phair at her anthemic best\, but with delicate golden guitar and a glut of catchy harmonies that would make James Mercer shed a little tear. The live band has an exceptional lineup including Adria Ivanitsky\, Tyler Figley\, and Skyler Hamler. Together\, the band has an energetic and joyful presence on stage and a signature sound characterized by shimmering guitars\, sweeping melodies\, and a deep sense of emotional resonance. \nSunbathe’s musical journey has been marked by exciting milestones\, including a notable 2019 recognition as one of Portland’s “Best New Bands.” Their growing reputation led them to tour with some of the indie scene’s most respected acts\, including Typhoon\, Built to Spill\, and Helio Sequence\, garnering an exceptional response from their audiences. \nIn 2022\, the band won the Echo Fund Grant\, allowing them to continue creating and evolving their sound. As they prepare to release their highly anticipated new album\, Myself To You\, Sunbathe continues to push creative boundaries\, capturing the essence of their dreamy\, atmospheric style while experimenting with new sonic landscapes.

SUMMARY:Blind Pilot / Sophie Bird *SOLD OUT*
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, July 22nd\, 2026 \n$33 Advance // $37 Day Of Show6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nBLIND PILOT \nThe first Blind Pilot album in eight years\, In the Shadow of the Holy Mountain emerged from a period of artistic crisis and the radical transformation of their creative ecosystem. “I went through a few years where I wasn’t able to write—I tried therapy\, I read books on writer’s block\, I went on writing trips\, but nothing was helping\,” says Israel Nebeker\, frontman for the Oregon-bred band. After stepping back and reimagining his songwriting approach\, Nebeker challenged himself to write an entire albumin a month\, then brought those songs to his bandmates with a newfound sense of receptivity. “I told myself that whatever songs came through in that month would be for the love of the band and music we make together\,” says Nebeker. “Instead of being controlling in the studio\, I wanted to let the songs live and breathe with the band as an entity. By the time we finished\, it was the most joy we’d ever had in making an album together.” \nProduced by Josh Kaufman (The Hold Steady\, David Wax Museum)\, In the Shadow of the Holy Mountain brings a potent new energy to the elegantly composed folk/indie-rock of past LPs like2016’sAnd Then Like Lions. In a profound step forward for the band—whose lineup also includes drummer/co-founder Ryan Dobrowski\, bassist Luke Ydstie\, and multi-instrumentalist Kati Claborn—Blind Pilot’s fourth full-length unfolds with an exquisite fluidity\, fully harnessing the undeniable chemistry. “In the past we’ve always been very serious and intentional about the process\, but Josh often encouraged us to throw away our preconceived notions of what the songs were supposed to be\,” says Nebeker. “So much of the album came from all of us playing live together\, listening to each other and trusting our instincts\, and really getting to the core of the song\,” Dobrowski adds. The result: the most revelatory expression yet of Blind Pilot’s palpable reverence for music as a connective force. \nWhile Blind Pilot intends to tour principally as a quartet in support of the record\, the album includes contributions from longtime trumpeter/keyboardist Dave Jorgensen and vibraphonist Ian Krist. In bringing the album to life\, the band worked with a rich palette of instrumentation\, handling each track with equal parts extraordinary care and unbridled spontaneity. For both Dobrowski and Nebeker—who formed an early iteration of the band as college students in the mid-aughts—those moments of ineffably closeness serve as the lifeblood of Blind Pilot.“ For me making this album feltlike celebrating being together and still feeling that deep connection that’s been a throughline for our entire adult lives\,” Dobrowski says. “One of my very favorite things about music is the way it not only connects us as bandmates\, but allows us to connect to an audience—and then within that audience\, people end up connecting with each other. It’s this powerful thing that’s unlike anything else\, and in a way it’s kind of like magic.” \nSOPHIE BIRD \nThe first job I dreamed of having when I grew up was: poet. The second: songwriter. Here\, we meet at the intersection of both. \nI’m Sophie Bird\, a Portland based songstress & writer spelunking the psyche through the light of words & song 🕯️ \nMy brain is always whirring with ideas on community\, literature\, mythology\, the red threads of desire\, synchronicities\, dead artists’ journals & diaries\, the collective unconscious\, matriarchy\, lost ancient wisdom\, and philosophy.
