DESCRIPTION:In 2007\, Kiteboard 4 Cancer was founded by three Gorge locals inspired to put on a small event for community good.One of those founders\, Tonia Farman\, led the event for its first fifteen years as it grew into a beloved community tradition. After several years away\, Tonia has returned to help guide KB4C into its next chapter\, reigniting the event with the same spirit of purpose and community that started it all. \nThere will be kiteboarding\, winging\, foiling\, art-ing\, eating\, swimming and more fun activities for our community to come take part in! \nFor the past 17 years\, KB4C has benefited organizations such as Children’s Hospital Seattle\, Children’s Healing Art Project\, John Wayne Cancer Foundation\, Celilo Cancer Center\, OHSU Adolescent & Young Adult Clinic\, and Project Koru\, the local organization here in Hood River that was started because of Kiteboard 4 Cancer. \nNew this year\, KB4C will select three beneficiary organizations whose work strengthens the Gorge community in the areas of cancer care and support\, and/or mental health and wellness.This approach allows the event to support several impactful programs each year while staying focused on the well-being of our community. Organizations aligned with these focus areas are invited to apply to become a KB4C beneficiary. Learn more at KB4C.org

DESCRIPTION:Attention All Gorge Wind\, Water\, Snow & Dirt Riders & CGW2.org Members: The Columbia Gorge Wind & Water Assoc.\, (CGW2.org) will be conducting it’s first 2026 season opener use-gear SWAP MEET this coming Memorial Day Weekend Sunday May 24th.  \n  \nWho? · Windsurfers\, Kiters\, Paddlers\, Foilers\, Snow & Dirt Riders with gear to sell. – Bring all that good used gear you’ve been meaning to sell. This will our season opening Swap Meet of 2026 so don’t miss this chance to sell your extra gear and find some great bargains on great used Gorge gear. \n· Beginners\, Bargain Hunters\, Wind\, Snow & Dirt Riders of All Levels – This is your first-of-season opportunity to browse tons of used gear at bargain prices and catch-up with your wind-riding pals! \n· Donors & Volunteers – CGW2.org needs volunteers to help set-up (7:00am – 8:00 am) and take-down (noon – 1:00 pm).  If you’re looking for gear or parts\, this will be your opportunity at first dibs! Just show up\, or contact us with questions at https://cgw2.org/contact \nCGW2.org will also be taking donations of decent\, usable\, UNDAMAGED gear at this event. We are in particular need of skinny carbon two-piece masts\, carbon booms\,  sail and foil boards\, all components  & undamaged SUP paddles. \nWe’re grateful for all gear donations\, however\, we CAN NOT take beat-up\, damaged\, or old ancient artifacts that no longer have resale value. \nWhen?:  SUNDAY May 24th. \nWhat Time?: 8:00 am to Noonish (sellers may set-up as early as 7:00 am). \nWhere?: Hood River Waterfront Lot #1 (large lot just south of The Hood River Event Site). \nParking?: For Sellers – Vehicles can enter Lot #1 east-side gate on N. 1st St.\, as early as 7:00am. There will be a $20 exhibitor fee to enter. Cash or check only. There will be lots of space to spread out so bring all your stuff!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n                  For Buyers – Free Event –  Street parking on N. 2nd St.\, west of Lot #1 and Portway Ave West of N. 2nd is free. Street parking east of Lot #1 on N. 1st St and Portway Ave between Lot #1 and The Event-Site is metered by the hour.
