DESCRIPTION:Cruise the Gorge 2026 is ON\, August 7-8-9\, 2026\n\n\nComing up on our 33rd year\, and still going strong. Dennis Gage (“My Classic Car” TV) liked it so much he put it on his “Greatest Hits” tour in 2025. Check our webpage www.midcolumbiacarclub.org or on YouTube for the episodes featuring our 2016 and 2025 shows.\n\n\nEverything kicks off with the “Neon Cruise”\, Friday evening\, downtown The Dalles. It’s an “open” cruise\, just like back in the day\, so just show up and start showing off (NO burnouts however). Cruisin’ runs from 7 to 9:45pm\, and it looks like the city will turn the lights to flashing yellow this year! Yea! This is the favorite part of the weekend for many of the locals\, and the sidewalks up and down 2nd and 3rd streets fill up with enthusiastic spectators. You can also pre-register for the show and/or pick up your Goodie Bag\, and check out T-shirt/hat and raffle ticket sales at Burgerville on 3rd St. between 4 and 7 pm.\n\n\nThen Saturday brings the “Show in the Shade”\, on the grass in beautiful SOROSIS PARK\, 300E Scenic Dr. Gate opens at 8am\, judging until Noon\, and the Parade of Champions awards ceremony beginning at 2pm. Goodie bags and dash plaques to the 1st 250 vehicles. $25 pre-entry\, $30 after July 31. 40+ awesome awards\, food and specialty vendors\, special entertainment\, oldies music and plenty of raffle prizes.\n\n\nFinally\, there’s the Dufur Threshing Bee Car Show\, on Sunday in the Dufur Community Park\, just 13 miles South of The Dalles\, starting at 9am.\n\n\nSo\, one day\, two days or all three\, how much fun do you want to have?

DESCRIPTION:Northwest Cherry Festival Unveils Reimagined 2026 Format Amid Downtown Construction \nThe GREAT Cherry Adventure | April 24–26\, 2026The Dalles\, Oregon\nwww.NorthwestCherryFestival.com \nThe Northwest Cherry Festival will return April 24–26\, 2026\, with a refreshed and reimagined format designed to balance celebration\, economic impact\, and the realities of ongoing downtown construction. \nDue to the City of The Dalles First Street Project\, the traditional footprint of the festival required modification this year. After months of site visits\, coordination\, and discussion beginning in October\, the Chamber and City worked together to evaluate space availability\, access\, power\, water\, vendor logistics\, and public safety before finalizing a revised plan. \nWhat’s Changing in 2026 \n\nThe carnival footprint has been revised and relocated to Lewis & Clark Festival Park (Union & W 1st Street).\n The carnival has been curtailed in size to fit the available footprint and will operate:\n\n\nFriday: 4:00–10:00 PM\nSaturday: 11:00 AM–10:00 PM\nSunday: 11:00 AM–6:00 PM\n\n\nVendor Market activities will take place Saturday only (11:00 AM–8:00 PM)\, reducing multi-day street closures.\n• Several festival elements have been redistributed throughout downtown to minimize concentrated impacts.\n\nLewis & Clark Festival Park will be closed for carnival setup beginning Sunday\, April 19\, with full removal and reopening expected by Tuesday\, April 28. \nSaturday\, April 25: A City-Wide Celebration \nSaturday remains the heart of the festival\, featuring: \n\n    CGCC Cherry Fun Run\n• Royalty Coronation & Community Breakfast\n• Cherry Festival Parade (10:00 AM)\n• Open-Air Vendor Market on Federal Street & Tony’s Lot\n• KODL Classic Car Show (Federal Street\, 2nd–4th)\n• Community Fair (4th & Washington–Federal)\n• Children’s Fair (Medical Arts Building Parking Lot)\n• Cherry Festival Quilt Show\n• Randy Haines Cherry Stomp Dance & Evening Concert at Civic Auditorium\n\nStreet closures for the Car Show\, Community Fair\, Children’s Fair\, and Vendor Market will occur Saturday only\, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM\, significantly reducing previous multi-day impacts. \nAll Month Long: The GREAT Cherry Adventure \nIn addition to weekend festivities\, April will feature a month-long Cherry Hunt (April 1–30)\, a community-wide interactive experience modeled after the popular Frosty Trail. Participants can visit businesses\, earn points\, win weekly prizes\, and search for hidden original artwork placed throughout the community. If found\, the art belongs to the finder. \nThis expanded format spreads foot traffic throughout the month\, supporting small businesses beyond a single weekend. \nEntertainment Across Downtown \nRather than centralizing all music\, the Chamber is partnering with local pubs\, restaurants\, and venues to activate downtown all weekend.
