SUMMARY:Community Forum on Free\, Fair Safe & Secure Elections in the Gorge
DESCRIPTION:This non-partisan community forum will feature election officials from Wasco and Hood River Counties in Oregon and Klickitat County in Washington and is sponsored by the Gorge UU Fellowship. \nThe purposes of the Forum are to educate the public and answer questions about how elections in our Gorge communities are administered. \n“Free\, Fair\, Safe and Secure” is part of a series of forums on democratic processes sponsored this year by the Gorge UU Fellowship and held at the Rockford Grange. Forums topics have included a winter forum on free speech and the press and also a spin forum on voting and elections held prior to primaries and special elections in both states. \nMisinformation and disinformation about the conduct of federal and state elections have resulted in confusion and threatened public confidence in the electoral process.\nPlease come and participate in this important community forum.\nBring your questions and observations. \nIssues to be addressed by Oregon and Washington election officials will include: \nVoter registration eligibility and timing\, \nReceipt and return of ballots by mail\, \nBallot drop box placement and security\, \nTabulation of ballots and votes\, \nTransparency in the election process\, \nIncorrect or unlawful registration and voting\, and \nMaking a personal plan for voting in November. \nConfirmed forum panelists include Klickitat County Auditor Heather Jobe\, Klickitat County Elections Administrator Brandie Sullivan\, Wasco County Clerk\, Chrissy Zaugg and Hood River County Acting Clerk Kelly Silva Magaña. \nFor more information\, contact administrator@mcuuf.org
