This free gathering is a relaxed way to spend time on the land and in community\, to ogle the wildflowers and admire the canyon\, and to see how the cemetery works – whether you are green burial curious\, seriously thinking about pre-planning\, or here to visit and tend a loved one’s grave. \nWe gather in the Ekone Ranch Valley to begin the day together\, then enjoy lunch in the Yummy Tummy Kitchen. \nWe’ll head up to White Eagle for a Q&A session and a walking tour. \nThen there will be time to bask in the wildflowers\, or help with projects on the land.  \nWEMP stewards will be available to answer questions about natural burial. SUMMARY:Remembrance Day (and work party weekend!) at White Eagle
DESCRIPTION:This gathering in service to the land and the spirits of our loved ones is a yearly tradition. \nJoin us for some productive and reflective time together on the land Sunday November 9th\, 11am – 4pm. \nWe gather in the lodge to begin the day together\, then split into smaller groups for project work\, to prepare the burial ground for winter. \nWe’ll share a fire circle lunch of soup and soul cakes\, and then some Ceremony around the fire\, with Portland Celebrant Holly Pruett – including a shared Litany of Remembrance – and then an introduction to our New Phone of the Wind\, and quiet time on the land for reflection. \nPlease wear sturdy work clothes\, bring gloves and hand tools\, and objects of remembrance for the altar. \nWEMP stewards will be available to answer questions about natural burial\, and site sales from this event are discounted 10%.please RSVP on our website:https://www.naturalburialground.org/events \nAlso – This day is held in conjunction with our fall Ekone work party weekend\, from Friday November 7 through Sunday November 9th – to sign up for the work party weekend please visit Ekone’s Work Parties page: https://www.ekone.org/workparties
