SUMMARY:Tezeta Band at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 7th\, 2026 \n$15 Advance // $20 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nTEZETA BAND \nOn Saturday November 7thth Tezeta Band will bring a night of energetic Ethio-Influenced jams to the confines of Trout Lake Hall in beautiful Trout Lake Washington. \nTezeta Band is an eight-piece ensemble that plays nostalgic Ethiopian influenced soul music. While rooting their sound in Ethio-Jazz\, Tezeta Band (Pronounced Tih-Zeh-Tah Band) has been playing old-school African grooves across dance floors and festivals to popular acclaim since 2008 \nTezeta Band was formed in Portland\, OR by former members of legendary 90s Hip-Hop band\, Five Fingers of Funk. After the Fingers dissolved in the early 2000s\, members Ted Hille and Tim Cook discovered a cassette of music from the French compilation\, Ethiopiques and decided to start a new group with their former bandmates. The band\, which started as a tribute to Golden age Ethiopian soul music\, has evolved to now play an inspired mix of both classic and original Ethio-Jazz compositions. \nTezeta Band have had the distinct honor to open for such legends as\, Mahmoud Ahmed\, Aster Aweke\, Hugh Masekela\, Toots & the Maytals and Vieux Farke Toure. In 2016 Tezeta Band self-released a full length LP “The Origin of Night life” and their music has been featured on internationally known compilations\, Noise and Chill Out: Ethiopian Groove Worldwide and Beyond Addis 1 & 2. Tezeta Band has also had their music featured in Songlines Magazine and on award winning documentary “Zemene. The Band is currently at work on their next LP which will feature all original music. \nTezeta Band consists of: Ted Hille/ Saxophone\, Tim Cook / Keyboards. Curt Bieker/Trombone\, Josh Prewitt/ Trumpet\, Brent Martens / Guitar\, Arcellus Sykes / Bass\, Jim Fisher/Percussion and Mark Blanding / Drums \nMore tour dates\, news\, and blog posts for Tezeta Band can be found at www.tezetaband.com

SUMMARY:Timewinder Tales - From the Glacier to the Gorge: 100 Years of Crag Rat Lore
DESCRIPTION:The History Museum of Hood River County is proud to announce its upcoming production of Timewinder Tales – From the Glacier to the Gorge: 100 Years of Crag Rats Lore. Celebrating the centennial legacy of the oldest continuously operating volunteer mountain search-and-rescue team in the United States\, this production highlights the foundational values that have anchored the Crag Rats since 1926: family legacy\, teamwork\, and an ethos of volunteer public service. \nThe performance features local actor Todd Dierker alongside active Crag Rats members Lisa Rust\, Walter Burkhardt\, and James Holloway\, bridging the gap between dramatic storytelling and first-hand operational memory.  The cast will share harrowing search-and-rescue accounts\, lighthearted stories\, and pivotal organizational milestones\, from technological revolutions in gear and communications to the vital inclusion of women in the ranks. \n“The Crag Rats represent an extraordinary chapter in Pacific Northwest history—ordinary neighbors doing extraordinary things on the glaciers of Mt. Hood for an entire century\,” said Lisa Commander\, Executive Director of The History Museum of Hood River County. “We hope to connect audiences with the grit\, humor\, and community spirit that keep this tradition alive.” \nTimewinder Tales (formerly Cemetery Tales) has been an important fundraiser for The History Museum since 2009.  We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing the stories of Crag Rats members with our community.  Join us before the show for appetizers and drinks from The Ruins bar; doors open at 6pm on Thursday and 1pm on Sunday. \n  \nEvent Details:\n\nDates & Times: Thursday\, November 5 at 7pm & Sunday\, November 8 at 2pm.  Doors open one hour prior to the showtimes.\nLocation: The Ruins\, 13 Railroad Street\, Hood River\nTickets: $30 for general admission\, $25 for museum members\, or $10 for ages 18 and under\nTicket Purchases & Information: Visit www.hoodriverhistorymuseum.org or call 541.386.6772\nSeating is limited. Advance ticket purchase is encouraged.\n\n### \nABOUT THE HISTORY MUSEUM OF HOOD RIVER COUNTY\nThe History Museum is a vibrant center for engaging all people in a better understanding of the community’s heritage that preserves the past\, relates it to the present and shapes our future. SUMMARY:The Suitcase Junket / Ben Larsen at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 8th\, 2026 \n$18 Advance // $25 Day of5pm Doors / 6pm ShowAll Ages \nTHE SUITCASE JUNKET \nThe Suitcase Junket — the intriguing songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Matt Lorenz — weds the sensibilities of early blues and rock ‘n’ roll\, the improvisational spirit of jazz\, and his love of Tom Waits to meticulous\, cultured songcraft. Dubbed a “master of musical imagination” by NPR’s World Café Live and “astonishing” by WBUR Boston\, Lorenz’s weathered\, howl-flecked voice was described by Rochester City Newspaper as “a cross between Hound Dog Taylor and a Tuvan throat singer who has swallowed a bird.” \nLorenz has earned snowballing acclaim for his achingly poetic dark folk. A solitary artist with an organic yet ornate vision\, his seventh album To Go On is his most acutely profound yet. Created in the wake of losing his sister\, singer-songwriter Kate Lorenz\, it’s a tender\, beautiful\, and arrestingly moving record; an internal dialogue and conversation with the departed\, enormously resonant to anyone who ever loved anyone. \nBEN LARSEN \nFor over a decade Larsen has been performing up and down the west coast and nationally as a solo artist. He recently returned home to the Pacific Northwest after spending a year and half in New York City\, writing and producing his third studio record Clarity\, which released fall of 2024. When Ben is not playing or producing music you can find him at the farmers markets in the Columbia River Gorge\, sharing produce from his Feather Oak Farm.

DESCRIPTION:TICKETS: https://www.tickettomato.com/event/10353 \n“My friend Andrei in Mexico City tells me that the Spanish word abrazo means so much more than a hug…” \nSo begins the stunning presentation from Nick Jaina\, a poetic film essay called Abrazo that explores the affection missing in the world. \nIn a unique performance\, Nick projects the film while playing gorgeous electric guitar soundscapes and narrating the film live\, all while beautiful videos from the streets of Mexico City flicker behind him. It is a uniquely hopeful experience of soul and body. \nThe film accompanies the book of the same name\, a poetic photo essay that unfolds in full color\, one line on each page. \n— \nNick Jaina was an Oregon Book Award finalist in 2015 for his memoir Get It While You Can\, which is now in its third printing. His writing has appeared in Atlantic Monthly\, McSweeney’s Quarterly and the journal Oregon Humanities. He has released many wonderful albums under his own name\, including 2025’s The Monster Mash.
