After months of site visits\, coordination\, and discussion beginning in October\, the Chamber and City worked together to evaluate space availability\, access\, power\, water\, vendor logistics\, and public safety before finalizing a revised plan. \nWhat’s Changing in 2026 \n\nThe carnival footprint has been revised and relocated to Lewis & Clark Festival Park (Union & W 1st Street).\n The carnival has been curtailed in size to fit the available footprint and will operate:\n\n\nFriday: 4:00–10:00 PM\nSaturday: 11:00 AM–10:00 PM\nSunday: 11:00 AM–6:00 PM\n\n\nVendor Market activities will take place Saturday only (11:00 AM–8:00 PM)\, reducing multi-day street closures.\n• Several festival elements have been redistributed throughout downtown to minimize concentrated impacts.\n\nLewis & Clark Festival Park will be closed for carnival setup beginning Sunday\, April 19\, with full removal and reopening expected by Tuesday\, April 28. \nSaturday\, April 25: A City-Wide Celebration \nSaturday remains the heart of the festival\, featuring: \n\n    CGCC Cherry Fun Run\n• Royalty Coronation & Community Breakfast\n• Cherry Festival Parade (10:00 AM)\n• Open-Air Vendor Market on Federal Street & Tony’s Lot\n• KODL Classic Car Show (Federal Street\, 2nd–4th)\n• Community Fair (4th & Washington–Federal)\n• Children’s Fair (Medical Arts Building Parking Lot)\n• Cherry Festival Quilt Show\n• Randy Haines Cherry Stomp Dance & Evening Concert at Civic Auditorium\n\nStreet closures for the Car Show\, Community Fair\, Children’s Fair\, and Vendor Market will occur Saturday only\, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM\, significantly reducing previous multi-day impacts. \nAll Month Long: The GREAT Cherry Adventure \nIn addition to weekend festivities\, April will feature a month-long Cherry Hunt (April 1–30)\, a community-wide interactive experience modeled after the popular Frosty Trail. Race start is at the Husum Fire Station and travel up Indian Creek road to the Weldon Wagon Trail where you will climb 1500′ to epic views. A few miles of gravel and a short road section will bring you to the fully stocked\, Cherry Lane Fire Aid Station. SUMMARY:Stevenson to Carson Ridge Run 10 Mile Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Columbia Gorge Running Club invites runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to embark on the 17th annual Ridge Run 10-Miler. This point-to-point race goes up and over the scenic ridge between the towns of Carson and Stevenson\, WA.\nIt’s a stout climb in both directions – so much so that Backwoods Brewing (in Carson) named a delicious oatmeal stout after this event. \nWhere:\nThe 2026 event starts at the Fairgrounds in Stevenson and ends at Backwoods Brewing in Carson. This is a point-to-point race\, so you can either park at the Backwoods Cabins in Carson and carpool to the start in Stevenson\, or find a ride back to the start after finishing. \nThere is not a shuttle to the start (or finish)\, so you will need to coordinate your own ride. It is highly recommended that you meet in Stevenson at 8am and carpool from there to the start. \nCarpool details:\nIf you want to catch a ride to the start\, meet at the Carson Cabins off Wind River Hwy in Carson at 8am.\nIt takes at least 15 minutes to drive from there to the start point in Carson. \nRace bib pick-up will be at the Exhibit Hall at the Skamania County Fairgrounds in Stevenson – be sure to be checked in before the race starts at 9am.\nIf you bring a labeled bag\, we can shuttle it to the finish for you. \nCost is $30 (increases to $40 on May 12)\nCGRC members save $10\nNot a CGRC member yet? Booster Club funds help the Columbia High School Cross Country team go to running camp\, compete in an amazing races around the Northwest\, purchase shoes for runners in financial need\, and much more. Additional donations and donations less than $35 will be available at the race. \nREGISTRATION/START/FINISH:Registration and the Start/Finish will be at Rheingarten Park at N. Main Ave and NW Lincoln St. \n7:00 am check-in and day of registration opens. \n8:55 am is the pre-run meeting at the start line\, which will be on Washington St. and N Main Ave. \nBoth the 1/2 Marathon and the 4 Mile Race begin at the same time and place!If you drop out please check in at the finish line so we know you are safe! \nCOURSE:The course involves a challenging climb and descent with gorgeous views of the Columbia River. The course will be marked with flour and orange surveyors tape. \nThe trail portion of the 1/2 Marathon course is about 12.3 miles and is a big lollipop. \nThe trail portion of the 4 mile course is about 2.5 miles and is a small loop on hilly terrain with gorgeous views! \nThe road portion of the course is around a mile each way\, to get you to and from the trail. The road portion of both races starts at the corner of NW Washington St and N Main Ave. Head east on Washington St then south on Snohomish until you reach Tohomish St. You will follow this until its end and take a hard left onto Park ave. From there you will drop into the trail system. You will be returning from another trail right back onto Tohomish and head back west to Rhinegarten Park via the same route you took out.  \nNo dogs are allowed. \nThere will be 3 aid stations and an additional “light” aid station with 3 miles left in the race. The first full aid station is about 30 to 40 minutes from the start depending on how quick you are. Make sure to bring a water bottle. Especially if it is hot! \nDAY OF REGISTRATION:You can still register for the race at the start line!!! See you there!

DESCRIPTION:Hey Chuggers! We’re heading back to Hood River to run the Twin Tunnels Trail! This will be a 9 mile run (4.5 each way\, but feel free to turn back whenever you like). It is\, by far\, the most beautiful run that RGC does every summer. You won’t be disappointed! Afterwards\, we’ll head into Hood River\, grab some lunch at Pfriem and then check out the other wineries/taprooms that the city has to offer. Let’s make a day out of it! \nWe’ll meet in the parking lot across from Hindustani Restaurant (2680 Old Columbia River drive Hood River\, OR) at 10:00 Am and then we’ll convoy to the trail head which is just a mile away. Please note: There is a $5.00 fee for trail head parking. \nIf you have any questions\, don’t hesitate to post them and I’ll get back to you ASAP. DESCRIPTION:In 2007\, Kiteboard 4 Cancer was founded by three Gorge locals inspired to put on a small event for community good.\nOne of those founders\, Tonia Farman\, led the event for its first fifteen years as it grew into a beloved community tradition. After several years away\, Tonia has returned to help guide KB4C into its next chapter\, reigniting the event with the same spirit of purpose and community that started it all. \nThere will be kiteboarding\, winging\, foiling\, art-ing\, eating\, swimming and more fun activities for our community to come take part in! \nFor the past 17 years\, KB4C has benefited organizations such as Children’s Hospital Seattle\, Children’s Healing Art Project\, John Wayne Cancer Foundation\, Celilo Cancer Center\, OHSU Adolescent & Young Adult Clinic\, and Project Koru\, the local organization here in Hood River that was started because of Kiteboard 4 Cancer. \nNew this year\, KB4C will select three beneficiary organizations whose work strengthens the Gorge community in the areas of cancer care and support\, and/or mental health and wellness.\nThis approach allows the event to support several impactful programs each year while staying focused on the well-being of our community.
