DESCRIPTION:This beautiful point to point trail race follows about 30 miles of the southbound Pacific Crest Trail starting at the Little Church in the Valley (in Stabler) and finishes at Bonneville Hot Springs in the town of North Bonneville\, WA. Runners will take a short detour to enjoy the 360 degree view of majestic Cascade Range volcanoes from the top of Three Corner Rock. The course is demanding and the terrain ranges from soft forest floor to challenging\, rocky creek beds. Capped at 100 athletes\, this race is unpretentious and unique. Highlights include miles-long exhilarating descents\, fresh huckleberries\, the boundless enthusiasm and high fives of northbound PCT thru-hikers\, and the low-key culture of a race that supports and celebrates the accomplishment of each runner who finishes or even attempts this tough course! Rather than asking children to sit still and “be mindful\,” the class gives them opportunities to discover focus\, confidence\, calm\, and body awareness through play and movement. \nEach week may include: \n-Yoga Games & Creative Play — Movement\, imagination\, partner activities\, group games\, and plenty of opportunities to laugh and have fun.-Strength\, Balance & Coordination — Yoga poses and movement challenges that build body awareness and complement sports and other physical activities.-Mindfulness Through Movement — Simple\, age-appropriate ways to practice noticing\, focusing\, and being present.-Breathing & Calming Tools — Playful breath practices children can use when they feel overwhelmed\, frustrated\, anxious\, or overstimulated.-Confidence & Self-Compassion — Encouragement to try new things\, celebrate what their bodies can do\, and practice treating themselves and others with kindness.-Connection & Cooperation — Games and activities that encourage creativity\, communication\, teamwork\, and belonging. \nAbout Gail: \nYoga has inspired Gail Lordi for decades\, and she especially loves sharing movement\, mindfulness\, and creativity with young people. Gail has taught Creative Arts and Kids Yoga to preschool\, kindergarten\, and middle-school students in Alaska. She has worked as a full time teacher\, as well as aparaprofessional educator\, with elementary and high-school students in Colorado and Alaska She also lived and taught elementary\, JH\, and adults in Japan.
