SUMMARY:Joe Pug / Dillon Warnek at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, November 12th\, 2026 \n$30 Advance // $35 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nJOE PUG \nA singer-songwriter known for his lyrical acumen and plaintive harmonica style\, Joe Pug dropped out of college and moved to Chicago where he worked as a carpenter before breaking into the city’s music scene. Since 2008 he has released a string of critically-acclaimed albums and toured heavily in the U.S. and abroad. Paste Magazine wrote of his music: “Unless your surname is Dylan\, Waits\, Ritter or Prine\, you could face-palm yourself to death trying to pen songs half as inspired.” \nHe has toured with Steve Earle\, Levon Helm\, The Killers\, Justin Townes Earle\, Sturgill Simpson\, and many others. He has appeared at Lollapalooza\, Bonnaroo\, and The Newport Folk Festival. His music has appeared on NPR’s “Prairie Home Companion” and “Mountain Stage”. His music has been released by Lightning Rod Records\, which features an alumni roster of Jason Isbell\, Billy Joe Shaver\, and James McMurtry. \nAdditionally\, he is the creator and host of the popular podcast The Working Songwriter. \nDILLON WARNEK \nAs The Neighbors Tried To Sleep is a gritty\, funny\, and painfully honest collection of late-night tales where chandeliers turn into piñatas\, landfills bloom with flowers\, and strange characters drift in and out like half-remembered dreams. It’s an album that walks the fine line between heartbreak and humor\, finding poetry in the wreckage and warmth in the weirdness of being alive. \nA construction worker by day and a keyboard poet by night\, Warnek has emerged as one of Music City’s most skillful new songwriters\, blending a myriad of influences into something entirely his own. The verve and attitude of Warren Zevon\, the piano-pop of Tumbleweed Connection-era Elton John\, the pumping ’70s glam-rock of Ian Hunter and Mott The Hoople\, the folk-rock earthiness of classic Bob Dylan and the sharp-tongued balladry of Randy Newman; they’re all here\, bound together by Warnek’s raggedly earnest vocals and wry lyrics. Warnek is the rare songwriter who can make you laugh\, wince\, and get a little misty-eyed — sometimes all at once. \nLyrically\, Warnek revels in twisted\, two-fisted tales of life’s darker side. He dives headfirst into reckless evenings spent on borrowed money\, hazy mornings waking up in a stranger’s trailer\, and daydreams about keeling over with too many secrets to reveal. It’s a world of bruised knuckles\, bad decisions\, and beautiful mistakes — told with a wink and a wince. \nOnstage\, Warnek holds court at his keyboard\, blending wry anecdotes with subversive lyricism and a showman’s charm. Some say there are no good piano men anymore. They just haven’t seen Warnek.

SUMMARY:Landscape presented by the Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association
DESCRIPTION:The Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association \nLandscape \nGorge Sinfonietta \nFriday\, November 13 at 7 PM\, Sunday November 15 at 2 PM \nWy’east Middle School Performing Arts Center \n  \n  \nThe Gorge Sinfonietta launches an exciting new chapter with the arrival of its new conductor\, Lars Campbell\, making his debut with the ensemble this season\, with Landscape\, an evocative concert celebrating the power and drama of the natural world. \n  \nFramed by the dramatic vistas of the Columbia River Gorge and standing in the twin shadows of Mount Hood and Mount Adams\, the Gorge Sinfonietta’s season premiere mirrors the rugged beauty of the region through musical storytelling. Campbell curated the Landscape program specifically to reflect the majesty and grandeur that define the local community. \n  \n“This program channels the expansive sense of place\, connecting the dramatic natural landscapes of the Columbia River Gorge with the rich\, emotive worlds created by master symphonic composers\,” said Campbell. \n  \nThe concert anchors around Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 3\, a work renowned for its pastoral clarity\, organic architecture\, and triumphant\, epic finale that evokes the raw majesty of Nordic vistas—resonating naturally with the Cascade range. Continuing the journey across geography and memory\, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ folk-infused Norfolk Rhapsody No. 1 paints a tender\, misty portrait of an English coastal fishing village\, capturing the reflective\, water-shaped contours of life by the river. Adding dramatic contrast\, Antonín Dvořák’s fiery Hussite Overture ignites the stage with rhythmic drive and historic passion\, carving a rugged musical terrain as commanding as the Gorge canyon itself. \n  \nWith Landscape\, Campbell and the Sinfonietta invite audiences to hear their surroundings anew—bridging the iconic summits of Hood and Adams and the timeless currents of the Columbia River with orchestral masterworks. \n  \nA seasoned conductor and trombonist\, Lars Campbell has led numerous performances for Third Angle New Music\, the Clackamas Wind Ensemble\, and Clackamas Repertory Theater\, in addition to performing with the Oregon Symphony. Drawn to CGOA by the vibrant community support in the Gorge\, Lars focuses on building connection and togetherness through music. Outside of conducting\, he is an avid hiker and kayaker\, an average golfer\, and a passionate fan of composer Leoš Janáček. \n  \nThe Sinfonietta Landscape concerts will be Friday\, November 13 at 7 PM\, and Sunday\, November 15 at 2 PM. Concerts will be at the Wy’east Middle School Performing Arts Center at 3000 Wy’east Rd in Odell. Tickets are available at gorgeorchestra.org. SUMMARY:Jeffrey Foucault / Janis Carper at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS RELEASE FRIDAY\, AUGUST 7th at 10AM! \nSaturday\, November 14th \, 2026 \n$20 Advance // $25 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nJEFFREY FOUCAULT \nIn two decades on the road Jeffrey Foucault has become one of the most distinctive voices in American music\, refining a sound instantly recognizable for its simplicity and emotional power. With a string of critically acclaimed studio albums – “Stark\, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest” (The New Yorker)\, “Beat-up troubadour folk whittled to dolorous perfection” (Uncut)\, “Songwriting Brilliance\,” (Irish Times) – he’s built a brick-and-mortar international touring career and a devoted following\, one that includes luminaries like Van Dyke Parks\, Greil Marcus\, and Don Henley. \nIn September of 2024 Jeffrey Foucault released THE UNIVERSAL FIRE (Fluff & Gravy\, 9/6/24)\, his first album of entirely new material since 2018. A series of high-voltage performances cut live in one room\, the album is both a working wake – Foucault lost his best friend and drummer Billy Conway\, to cancer in 2021 – and a meditation on the nature of beauty\, artifact\, and loss. \nAugmenting Foucault’s all-star band with members of Calexico and Bon Iver (drummer John Convertino and producer/saxophonist Mike Lewis) THE UNIVERSAL FIRE sets Conway’s death against the massive 2008 fire at the Universal Studios lot in California that destroyed the master recordings of some of our bedrock American music\, to interrogate ideas about mortality\, legacy\, meaning\, and calling. \nJANIS CARPER \nTake Bonnie Raitt\, Shawn Colvin\, Rosanne Cash\, and Lucinda Williams and put ’em in a blender\, add a dash of Bruce Cockburn and Kevin Welch\, serve in a salted glass\, no straw. That may be the best way to describe singer/songwriter/guitarist Janis Carper\, whose clear\, powerful vocals and aggressive guitar playing skillfully convey the messages of her well-crafted songs — in styles ranging from country and swing to folk\, rock\, and blues. \nAn award-winning songwriter\, Carper has won songwriting honors at festivals including the famed Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas\, and has toured internationally in the off-Broadway hit “Woody Guthrie’s American Song.”Her 2020 album Sweet Relief — a collection of 14 original songs written and performed entirely by Carper\, recorded solo during the COVID-19 quarantine at MiCasa Studio in Enterprise\, Oregon — is her eleventh full-length recording and one of her most personal. Her 2025 single “Black Moon” continues that streak of honest\, road-worn songwriting. \nAlongside her solo work\, Carper performs with songwriter/vocalist Carolyn Lochert as Jezebel’s Mother\, and the most elusive band in the northwest\, The Strange Striders. She’s toured as lead guitarist with rising Americana star Margo Cilker\, as well as all-woman country rockers Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters. She is also the founder and director of the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance\, a beloved non-profit she has helmed since its founding in 2004 in rural eastern Oregon.

SUMMARY:Chris Acker at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 22nd\, 2026 \n$15 Advance // $20 Day of5pm Doors / 6pm ShowAll Ages \nCHRIS ACKER \nIn a genre full of tall tales and marketable lies\, New Orleans’ Chris Acker crafts candid songs – weaving his wit and woes into a body of work that exposes the stale plight of the American Songster to the honest\, and sometimes hilarious\, light of day. \nIn the tradition of Guthrie and Prine\, Chris lends a quavering voice to the half-rotten romance of the unremarkable and unrefined. Regardless if you’re sitting by a backyard fire on a muggy Louisiana night or standing stage-side in some far flung town\, when you hear Chris Acker playing\, you’re hearing the end result of countless hours of observing the masters of the craft…and the end result of repeating their mistakes. \nFrom the folk revival through the golden age of country music\, deafened by punk shows and brass bands alike\, Chris’s songwriting is a nod to the absurd yet muted brilliance that inhabits the molded corners of the bars he patrons and cratered street he treads\, paired with a pained honesty that merits a long second look. \nAcker released his fourth full-length album\, Famous Lunch\, on Gar Hole Records in October of 2024. Famous Lunch contains some of his best work yet: laid back\, country-rockers like “Wouldn’t Do For You (Buddy)” and “Shit Surprise” (which Paste Magazine called a “song of the year contender” in 2024)\, a few raucous\, bar-ready joints like “Don’t You Know (Who I Think I Am)” and “Bunn Machine”\, and tender\, folky triumphs like “Stubborn Eyes” and “Eyelash”\, all showcasing Chris’ gift of building “vivid scenes at an impressively low word count” (No Depression). \nAcker tours solo or with his band The Growing Boys — Zach Thomas (bass)\, Nikolai Shveitser (pedal steel)\, Dave Hammer (guitar\, vocals)\, Sam Gelband (drums\, vocals)\, and occasionally Howe Pearson (piano).

SUMMARY:Countryside Ride's 4th Annual Bakersfield Bash at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Satuday\, November 28th\, 2026 \n$18 Advance // $25 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \n4th ANNUAL BAKERSFIELD BASH \nOn Saturday\, November 28th\, The Countryside Ride Band will be bringing their 4th Annual Bakersfield Bash to the Trout Lake Hall celebrating their most influential country music subgenre: The Bakersfield Sound. Being West Coast country artists\, Countryside Ride has been profoundly influenced by the Bakersfield Sound\, the artists who created it\, and are thrilled to be dedicating a night to performing the music of Buck Owens\, Merle Haggard\, Wynn Stewart\, Red Simpson\, Tommy Collins\, Dwight Yoakum\, and many more of the purveyors of The Bakersfield Sound. Mark your calendars and don’t forget to bring your dancing boots! \n“Let me tell you about The Bakersfield Sound. It was the wild untamed side of country music that came out of California’s Central Valley in the 50s and 60s. This wasn’t your polished Nashville-style country\, no Sir\, this was rougher\, rawer\, and a whole lot louder: just like the folks who made it. Buck Owens and Merle Haggard were the kings of this scene\, but they weren’t alone. Wynn Stewart brought some west coast swagger\, with his smooth vocals and sharp guitar work\, while Tommy Collins laid the groundwork that mixed humor and heartache in a way that was pure country. Bonnie Owens\, not just Merle’s wife but a powerhouse vocalist\, added warmth and depth\, while Red Simpson kept the highways humming with his truck driving anthems. The Bakersfield Sound was born in the honky tonks and roadhouses of Bakersfield\, where the beer flowed and the dance floors stayed packed. These folks cranked up the twang on their Telecasters\, slapped on a honky tonk beat\, and sang about real life struggles: hard work\, hard luck\, and heartbreak that could only be drowned out with a stiff drink. They took the clean polished sound of Nashville and gave it a shot of adrenaline: creating music that was tough as nails and real as dirt. So\, when you hear those driving rhythms\, sharp guitar riffs\, and honest to God lyrics\, you’re hearing The Bakersfield Sound: a raw\, real\, and unapologetically authentic slice of country music history.” (The Bakersfield Sound) \nCOUNTRYSIDE RIDE \nThe Countryside Ride Band was described in 2016 by The Portland Mercury as “spot-on\, honky-tonk preservationists capable of teaching a master class.” Founded in 2005 by childhood friends Bret Ervin (guitar and vocals)\, Joshua Kunze (lead guitar)\, and Jessica Renee (bass and vocals)\, Countryside Ride originally performed as a three-piece before inviting some of the best country & western players in the Pacific Northwest to join them. Countryside Ride is now performing primarily as a five-piece honkytonk band. For over two decades\, Countryside Ride has been writing and performing original music and traditional honkytonk standards in venues throughout the region. The current line-up includes the tremendous J.D. Cunningham on pedal-steel guitar\, and the legendary Kevin\, “Shuffle King\,” Major on drums. \nIn the years since Countryside Ride’s inception\, the band has been working to hone their craft the way their honkytonk heroes did: playing marathon sets for diehard country music enthusiasts wherever they may be. Countryside Ride can be found performing at festivals\, dances\, special events\, venues large and small\, and rodeos like the Pendleton Roundup: consistently entertaining multiple generations of music fans while breathing new energy in traditional Country music. Additionally\, Countryside Ride has shared the stage with acts like Wayne “The Train” Hancock\, Rosie Flores\, Hellbound Glory\, Summer Dean\, and many others. Although they have released two of their own records (with two more in the works)\, Countryside Ride’s repertoire is vast and incorporates multiple sub-genres of American music as well: making them the Pacific Northwest’s premier honkytonk dance band.

SUMMARY:Chris Staples / Lilly Miller at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, December 5th\, 2026 \n$15 Advance // $20 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nCHRIS STAPLES \nAmerican singer-songwriter Chris Staples is a master of his craft. Across seven studio albums\, most of which are self-produced\, he consistently delivers a healthy dose of profundity on a spoonful of melodic sugar\, making even the most difficult of revelations go down with ease. Raised in the small coastal town of Fort Walton Beach\, Florida\, Staples began writing songs as a young teenager\, surrounded by the ever-present piano playing of his mother\, a professional organist. Now settled in Nashville\, he has lived in many corners of the United States\, collecting experiences and varied landscapes that saturate his writing. \nOn stage\, Staples emanates an undeniable humility and calmness\, the result of more than 500 performances across 12 countries throughout his solo career. He began touring in 1997 in a post-punk band before turning to his own more introspective songwriting. Staples’ critical breakthrough record\, Golden Age (2016)\, received widespread acclaim from major tastemakers\, including high praise from NPR’s “First Listen.” The albums’ title track picked up steam\, garnering over 50 million streams to date. In response to his follow-up Holy Moly (2019)\, NPR proclaimed Staples as “a gifted storyteller who reveals life’s greatest mysteries in humanity’s smallest moments.” Following the release of Cloud Souvenirs (2023)\, an unselfconscious masterpiece recorded while tending to his mother’s declining health\, Staples continues to raise the bar with his newest full-length album Don’t Worry (2025) – a captivating journey through nostalgia and stillness\, vignettes of blurry memory that present a clear perspective and gentle resolution. \nStaples brings a felt sense of care and intention to all aspects of his career\, most notably his live performance. In a captivating solo set\, he exercises the concept of nonexcess. Though he is physically center stage\, his delivery of “unadorned poetry” (NPR) makes space for something beyond himself to become the focal point – a comforting elephant in a quiet room. Between songs\, his bouts of kindly deadpan banter never fail to disarm a room full of strangers\, reminding us that sincerity and humor\, grief and levity\, have no choice but to coexist\, so we might as well embrace it. \nLILLY MILLER \nLilly Miller is a singer-songwriter whose candid\, cathartic folk songs draw listeners in and reward close attention. Raised in Iowa\, she began performing after relocating to Seattle\, Washington in 2022\, quickly finding her footing in the city’s music scene. She has since toured in support of artists like Damien Jurado\, Olivia Barton\, and Racoma. \nHer debut record\, After\, now (2025)\, expands her acoustic foundation with exploratory textures and lush\, atmospheric soundscapes. Her forthcoming release\, Did Something in Me Break (2026)—a split with Damien Jurado—reimagines many of her earlier songs in a warm\, live setting\, offering a more intimate and immediate take on her work.

SUMMARY:Two Runner / Trinity Jane at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS RELEASE FRIDAY JULY 17 at 10am! \nFriday\, December 11th\, 2026 \n$18 Advance // $23 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nTWO RUNNER \nAmid the excitement and ambiguity of a new start\, Paige Anderson of Two Runner poses poignant questions on Porchlight\, her resolute and tenderhearted new record. Beautiful string arrangements\, intimate confessionals\, and rollicking hymns for the lost and determined\, here is an artist who’s been on the road consistently since early childhood – with persistence and commitment to her craft clearly in no short supply. \nPorchlight offers tunes that are warm and steady\, relatable nostalgia twinged with the ache of needing to move on. The result aptly links the uncertainty of letting go and simultaneous resolve of someone faced with no other choice. A destiny perhaps sealed from an early age\, as Anderson began her touring career in a six-person family bluegrass band from the age of nine. Now nearly a decade into her own music career\, she’s seen stages warming up for Sierra Ferrell\, Watchhouse and Molly Tuttle. \nAlthough change often comes en masse\, it is surreal and jarring to start again. Paige Anderson offers Two Runner as solace and escape for those needing to reset\, with sage comfort and kindness from her own accounts\, the way all great songwriters do. Porchlight is perhaps best summed up by the chorus in track five\, ‘Mocking Crow’: “Wake up tomorrow\, there’s no in between – your heart knows what you need.” A reckoning\, a stark look in the mirror\, hope\, and forward movement against all odds. \nTRINITY JANE \nTrinity Jane’s music is like the beauty of a storm rolling in off the sea that breaks into splendid water colors on canvas. Trinity embarked as a singer and songwriter similarly to taking her first steps\, at the very beginning. Her music blurs the lines between the grounding of the mind and matters of the heart with her songwriting. \nGrowing up in Pennsylvania in the Appalachian mountains sprawls her roots far to the west coast where she resides now. In Portland\, Oregon she and her band perform cathartic melodies rooted in alternative rock and folk. An elemental pallet saturated in emotion. A sound all her own that harkens to generations past.

SUMMARY:Willi Carlisle - The Universal Bubba Tour at Trout Lake Hall
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, December 12th\, 2026 \n$23 Advance // $30 Day of6pm Doors / 7pm ShowAll Ages \nWILLI CARLISLE \nWith a heavy-duty catalog of new material for a career first double album\, The Universal Bubba marks a half dozen releases for folksinger Willi Carlisle and reaches new heights with the added accelerant of first time producer Tyler Childers. In an all-time DIY effort\, Childers and his band convened to a makeshift home studio nestled in the Bywater District of New Orleans for two weeks to cut 17 tracks that expand Carlisle’s sonic scrapbook and capture the off-kilter characters living in his songs. \n“I think this one goes to outer space\,” says Carlisle. “I think this is the widest range of influences that I’ve ever had. It touches on funk\, it touches on Americana\, Cajun\, oldtime\, and experimental music.” With Childers’ band behind him\, Carlisle embraced the freedom to wander across genres both familiar and new\, testing out instrumentation and toying with the surreality of traditions being turned on their head. “It feels like getting drunk at the Civil War reenactment\, or cruising at the cattle auction\, or doing molly at the square dance\,” says Carlisle. “It’s the first time I’ve ever used synthesizers and double electric guitars. There’s also more fretless 19th century style banjo on it than any record I’ve ever made.” \nExploration aside\, Carlisle’s mission as a folksinger largely remains the same – documenting the stories and struggles of the people and balancing the humor and hope of existence. “I want to make a universal folk music. Songs for all kinds of weirdos\,” says Carlisle. “With the idea that there is nobody that doesn’t have folk songs and everyone deserves folk songs. I want to write songs that prove the old weird America didn’t go anywhere\, that we are living and dying for it everyday. I believe there’s noble work to do in that context. That if we feel despair\, we don’t need to because there’s so much good work to do.” \nA top candidate for encapsulating the energy of The Universal Bubba\, “Gas Station” is a driving recollection of life on the road with a sing-along chorus. Created largely on the fly and beginning with Childers’ jokingly referring to a knife-fight\, the end result was Carlisle’s only co-write with his producer on the record. “We sat in a circle with pen\, paper\, instruments\,” says Carlisle\, “Tyler suggested\, ‘goodle days’ instead of ‘good old days.’ We kept shaping verses\, agreeing that my choruses were working. Suddenly I realized\, this was a co-write! But the red light was already on. We were co-writing and recording at the same time. Wild as hell.” \nOf the anarchist anthem “The Master’s Hammer”\, Childers wanted a pure\, essential folk song ringing out with harmonica\, banjo and three part harmonies. ”I was trying to boil my ideology down into something I can sing for my friends\,” says Carlisle. \nThe title tracks sprawl gloriously in two parts\, giving praise to do-it-yourselfers that corral the cosmos into being. Carlisle sings for “booty shaking rock and rollers” and “small town hellraisers” and “unofficial mayors” the world over. \nTaking on a project of this size with Tyler Childers as debut producer requires hard work\, camaraderie and supreme self confidence. Undeterred by the challenge and grounded in his beliefs\, Carlisle has proved that it really does “take a Universal Bubba doin’ it for themselves.” \nAMELIA DAY \nIt took a world-shaking breakup for Amelia Day to find her true sound — and herself. She embraces the full range of her influences with “EGO TRIP\,” a genre-bending EP stacked high with alt-rock guitars\, pop hooks\, swooning keyboards\, and the sharp songwriting of a lifelong storyteller. Inspired by the sudden collapse of a college romance\, “EGO TRIP” finds room for anger\, liberation\, and healing\, with Amelia nodding not only to the folk music she discovered as a child in the Pacific Northwest\, but also the electrifying empowerment of her favorite 1990s frontwomen. The result is a collection of melody-driven songs that breathe new life into classic sounds\, largely written in her adopted hometown of Nashville and recorded at Bear Creek Studio in her home state of Washington. With “EGO TRIP\,” Amelia Day creates her own geography.

Ever wished the beloved songwriter had more to do with sleigh bells\, eggnog\, and Old Saint Nick. Well\, in 1994 Prine released his 11th LP titled\, “A John Prine Christmas.” The critics didn’t acclaim it much\, but with titles such as “Silent Night All Day Long ” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus\,” it’s still Prine at his lovely wry best\, bringing Christmas home. \nWe are proud to present “A John Prine Christmas” – a night of your favorite songs featuring folk troubadour and Prine scholar\, Jenner Fox\, with his all-star band. The evening will weave together Prine’s classic hits\, his holiday themed songs\, stories\, and lots of singing along. Come prepared to laugh and cry and ho ho ho your way through celebrating a true American original. \nThe Bellingham\, WA based band features piano\, electric guitar\, bass\, acoustic guitar\, and rich vocal harmonies. \nJENNER FOX BAND \nThe evening will weave in Jenner Fox’s critically acclaimed originals. Known for his poignant and humorous storytelling\, “Jenner combines the lyricism of Joni Mitchell and the commentary of Neil Young to represent the next generation of singer-songwriters” (Grammy-nominated producer Cookie Marenco). The band’s debut LP\, Anything\, earned high praise: “There’s a quiet magic in the way they play together — in how each instrument listens\, breathes\, and responds — the soul-stirring\, spirit-settling debut is worth savoring from start to finish” (Atwood Magazine). Since 2015\, Fox has released ten albums of original music and toured extensively across the country.
