No prior experience necessary. Brooke brings decades of experience and a passion for teaching to guide students in exploring this luscious medium. Learn classical realism methods of art making using alla prima techniques in a simplified color palette. Workshop is designed for all skill levels\, beginners are welcomed! \nItinerary: \n10am – 10:30: Introduction and discussion of materials. \n10:30 – 11:30: Instructor’s painting demonstration of her 3 step process\, color mixing\, and brushwork techniques. \n11:30 – 1pm: Students begin paintings. DESCRIPTION:Join mixed media collage artist Jordan Kim for some weekend creative play! We’ll be exploring the use of paint\, prints\, stamps\, inks\, and texture tools in making unique backgrounds in your very own art journal. You’ll learn how to create richly layered abstract designs that can stand on their own or be overlayed with photos\, poetry\, sketches\, or other ideas.  Each participant will receive an art journal to take home and continue building new creations. Emphasis for class will be on fun\, creative play\, and creating a supportive group environment.
