DESCRIPTION:The Road to Trout Lake  an Artist Studio Tour \nThis tour will take you to the studios of some of the mid Columbia’s most well know and some newly discovered artists.  Pick up the tour in Underwood at the mouth of the White Salomon River for your first stop.  Head north on 141 driving past orchards\, fields\, farms\, and hills\, stopping at studio’s along the way and catch views of the river as you go.  Stop for lunch in BZ Corner visit the Missing Corner gallery of all of the tour artists and studios of three artistis.  Only a few miles and you will be in Trout Lake with impressive views of Mt. Adams.  Drive around the valley stopping at the studios and a group show at the Trout Lake Grange.  In all the route features 9 open studios\, showcasing 15 artists\, including metalwork\, wood\, jewelry\, oil and watercolor painting\, pottery\, and glass work. \nHours are Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 10am to 4 pm. \nCheck the website for a map\, list of the artists\, places to eat\, and stay the night.

DESCRIPTION:Due to circumstances beyond our control\, the Columbia River Gorge Quilt Guild quilt show scheduled for October 2 and 3\, 2026\, has been cancelled. The Hood River Fairgrounds has been appropriated for a Wildfire Response base camp by the U.S. Forest Service. \nWe understand that this late notice is a large inconvenience for you and we are very sorry.  We had hoped that the containment of the large fires in our area and the recent rains would allow us to hold the show.  The mop up work has taken longer than anticipated and the crews need to leave the Mt Hood Meadows property due to colder weather. Hence\, the move to the fairgrounds in Odell. \nOur Guild is proud to support the fire fighters who keep our forests and homes safe.  Thank you fire fighters\, and we will see you at the 2027 show!

The Guild members provide about 130 quilts every year\, with several award categories such as Mixed Media\, Art Quilts\, and Large Quilts/traditional. Many quilts will be available for purchase. \nThe show includes our favorite vendors: My Quilting Loft\, 3 C’s\, Lala and Mer\, Farm Raised Family Fabrics\, and more. A snack bar will offer soups and sandwiches\, and parking is free.

Fifty\nyears later\, he returns to where it all began with a collection that reflects a lifetime devoted to creativity. From\nearly explorations to his bold contemporary work\, the exhibition highlights the growth of an artist whose\npaintings celebrate the beauty\, energy\, and spirit of the Columbia Gorge and beyond.\nKnown for his richly saturated colors and expressive compositions\, Nilsson transforms familiar landscapes into\njoyful\, luminous experiences.
