SUMMARY:Comedy Night at The Bingen – Deviant Acts with Jeff Greenspan
DESCRIPTION:Comedy Night at The Bingen \nDeviant Acts with Jeff Greenspan \nThursday\, March 12 – 6:30 ( An earlier show for a worknight crowd.) \nRecommended 18+ \nSeating begins at 6:00 – Show begins at 6:30 \nDeviant Acts is Jeff Greenspan’s solo\, multimedia comedy show blending stand-up with footage from his real-life media stunts. Jeff roasts advertising\, media\, and pop culture—while sharing behind-the-scenes stories from viral pranks like The Tourist Lanes (called “brilliant” by New York Magazine) and the covert installation of The Snowden Statue (featured by Rachel Maddow). \n  \nA former BuzzFeed Chief Creative Officer and Facebook insider\, Jeff now turns his media expertise against the system\, hijacking news cycles with stunts so bold even NYC’s mayor had to weigh in. Along the way\, Jeff gets personal\, unpacking how the media warped his sense of self-worth as a gay man—and how it distorts the way all of us see ourselves. You’ll leave laughing\, thinking\, and maybe plotting a scheme or two.

SUMMARY:A Poet (Un Poeta) | Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Synopsis (English) \nMiddle-aged and erratic\, Oscar is a failed writer who has given up on life. Unemployed and living with family\, he wanders the streets of Medellín in a drunken stupor\, lamenting the state of literature in his home country\, where he has succumbed to the cliché of the tortured artist. However\, the opportunity to mentor a young student offers a chance at redemption\, if he doesn’t screw it up first. In a performance marked by darkly comic pathos\, first-time actor Ubeimar Rios stars in Simón Mesa Soto’s Un Certain Regard Jury Prize-winner A Poet\, a raw and riotous farce about how good deeds are often met with the universe’s idea of cruel and unusually poetic punishment.
