DESCRIPTION:Introduction to oil painting with Brooke Walker-Knoblich \nJoin us for an intensive one-day workshop painting pet portraits in oils. Brooke brings decades of experience and a passion for teaching to guide students in exploring this luscious medium. Learn classical realism methods of art making using alla prima techniques in a simplified color palette. Workshop is designed for all skill levels\, beginners are welcomed! \nItinerary: \n10am – 10:30: Introduction and discussion of materials. \n10:30 – 11:30: Instructor’s painting demonstration of her 3 step process\, color mixing\, and brushwork techniques. \n11:30 – 1pm: Students begin paintings. Brooke will circle the room to offer individual help as needed. \n1pm – 2: Lunch break. \n2 – 4:30pm: Students work towards completing their paintings. \n4:30 – 5pm: Group admiration and critique of everyone’s work. \nInstructor will provide most materials\, including paint\, easels\, palettes\, medium\, OMS\, etc. Students must bring a gessoed canvas (recommend 8×10″ or 11×14″ size)\, paintbrushes shaped rounds\, flats\, and filberts sized detailed to 1″ wide\, and a printed image of the animal they want to paint for reference. \nDate: Saturday October 10 \nTime: 10am-5pm \nAges: 18+ \nCost: $135 \nLocation: Tokki Art Supply Classroom 208 4th st\, Hood River \nIf you cannot attend a class\, a 72 hour notice prior to the start of the class via email or phone is required for a full refund of the class fee. After that there is no refund. \nStudents will receive a confirmation email of the purchase of the class.
