SUMMARY:Plein Air Painting in the Columbia River Gorge
DESCRIPTION:Join artist Cathleen Rehfeld for a 3-hour outdoor painting class in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pacific Northwest! \nWe’ll begin with a focused demonstration (30–45 minutes) where Cathleen will cover key concepts including color\, value\, perspective\, composition\, and techniques for creating a strong sense of atmosphere and distance in your paintings. She’ll also answer questions and help everyone get set up and focused. Cathleen will be painting in oils\, but students are welcome to bring oil or gouache. \nAfter the demo\, students will paint on location while Cathleen circulates to provide individual guidance and feedback at your easel. This is a great opportunity to paint outdoors\, learn practical skills\, and capture the light and majesty of the Columbia River Gorge. \nClass runs from 9am until noon at a designated outdoor location determined by Cathleen. DESCRIPTION:Give your elementary-aged child a delicious passport to the world! Our “Around the World” culinary camp is a hands-on journey where young chefs (ages 5-12) explore diverse cultures\, one recipe at a time. Participants will learning authentic cooking techniques\, discovering exciting new flavors\, and follow multiple recipes each day of camp from start to finish.After tasting their creations\, students will box them up for home (if there is any left)! \nCulinary classes in The Makery are not only fun and tasty\, but expose children to learning self-reliance\, reading comprehension\, units of measurement\, fractions\, utensil skills\, kitchen safety\, planning\, and patience.  \nEach child needs to bring a lunch and a water bottle.
