Following their stunning feature in Columbia Arts’ Rooted in the Gorge exhibit in February\, DeLoné returns to guide participants through the fundamentals of woodburning. \nIn this introductory class\, you’ll explore: \n\nA brief history of pyrography\nTools and safety basics\nFoundational line work techniques\nHow to create depth and shading through burn techniques\n\nThe featured project for the workshop is KEEPSAKE BOX\, and students will chose from one of three pattern templates to learn and practice their skills. \nNo experience needed—just bring yourself! \nAll tools and materials will be provided. \nAbout DeLoné \nDeLoné is a self taught artist. They use their work as a way to heal their own traumas\, the traumas of their ancestors & recently the people who see their work. Through spiritual practices & ancestral work they incorporate the messages they receive via dreams and meditation into their work. Growing up multi-racial & queer\, it was important to them to find their sense of self and where they fit in within her communities. Art has helped them accomplish this.
