DESCRIPTION:This class is for students who have a desire to learn the fundamental skills of drawing from reality using photo reference. In this two hour introduction\, we will cover: \n– tools used\, including pencils\, paper\, erasers\, and my secret weapon! \n– Techniques on how to draw full backgrounds\, shading skin and clothing\, drawing hair\, fur\, leather and metal. \n– How to transfer a sketch onto high-quality paper for a finished project. \n– Time to practice all techniques taught with individual instruction as needed. \nAll pencils and paper are provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own drawing tools. There will be a pre-sketched project given to all students for in class practice they may take home. \nBring your creativity\, your eagerness to learn and no prior drawing experience is necessary. \nDate: Saturday September 13 \nTime: 11am-1pm \nAges: 12+ \nCost: $50 \nLocation: Tokki Art Supply Classes 208 4th st\, Hood River \nIf you cannot attend a class\, a 72 hour notice prior to the start of the class via email or phone is required for a full refund of the class fee. After that there is no refund. \nStudents will receive a confirmation email of the purchase of the class. DESCRIPTION:Columbia Center for the Arts (CCA) is proud to present the Northwest Pastel Society Members Show 2025\, featuring more than 100 works by 66 artists. This juried exhibition\, celebrating the vibrancy and versatility of pastel as a medium will be on display at CCA September 5–28. \nThe exhibition was juried and judged by Gail Sibley\, a Master Pastelist with both the Pastel Artists of Canada and the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS). Known for her HowToPastel blog\, the online art community IGNITE!\, and her artist mentoring programs\, Sibley brings both expertise and inspiration to the showcase.
