SUMMARY:Local Legends History Talk
DESCRIPTION:At The Lightwell Hotel & Spa: The History Museum of Hood River County presents a new speaker series\, Local Legends: Hood River History Talks at the Lightwell Hotel & Spa\, 201 Cascade Ave.\, Hood River.  These fun and informative events will be held on the first Mondays in October – December\, 2026 and January – April 2027.  The events will be at the Lightwell Hotel & Spa in the Columbia Room\, next to the lobby. Ticket sales will benefit The History Museum\, while the Lightwell Hotel offers food and drink to visitors. \nThe presentations will be 6pm – 7:30pm\, with about 20 minutes for questions.  Tickets are $12/general admission\, $10/museum members.  A special extended happy hour at the hotel is 3pm – 6pm.  Tickets are available on the museum’s website: www.hoodriverhistorymuseum.org/calendar/ \nInaugural Presentations: \nOct. 5: Lorraine Carlstrom\, “A Walk in the Hood: a virtual tour of Hood River” \nNov. 2:  Suzi Conklin\, “Hops and Hollywood: Prohibition\, Movies and More in the Hood” \nDec. 7:  Prof. Scott Baker\, “Rock and Roll: the Dynamic Geology of the Gorge” \n  \nSeating is limited\, so advance ticket purchase is encouraged. \n  \n  \n  \nABOUT THE HISTORY MUSEUM OF HOOD RIVER COUNTY\nThe History Museum is a vibrant center for engaging all people in a better understanding of the community’s heritage that preserves the past\, relates it to the present and shapes our future. DESCRIPTION:Big Britches Productions is doing things a little differently this holiday season: TWO shows sharing one set\, with lots of ways to get involved! \nThe Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson\, directed by Jen Harty\, is completely family friendly with a wide age range needed\, adults included. \nOwen Meany’s Christmas Pageant\, based on John Irving’s novel A Prayer for Owen Meany and directed by Kathleen Morrow\, has all characters\, even the children\, played by adults. \nThere are two audition dates for each show. You don’t need to attend both\, just pick whichever date works best for you (though you’re welcome at both if you’d like). \nAdults are welcome to audition for both shows; the audition form will have a spot to note whether you’d like to perform in both or are just hoping to land a spot in one or the other. \nCan’t make any of the dates?
