Renato Caranto and Louis Pain…Live Music

Two of Oregon’s greatest musicians are coming to the Hood River Hotel for the ongoing Saturday night Jazz by the Fireplace series. Expect jazz, R&B, Soul and original compositions.

Renato Caranto, tenor saxophone, and Louis Pain, Hammond B3 organ comprise half of the highly regarded Portland band, the Mel Brown B3 Organ Group. In addition Renato was a member of music legend Merle Haggard’s touring band for it’s final three years, and has toured regularly with Grammy-winning sensation Esperanza Spalding. He plays straight from the heart with endless creativity, dynamics and spirit.
Louis “King Louie” Pain is the Northwest’s reigning master of the Hammond B3 organ with a stellar career resume to go with his mastery of that rare and unique instrument. The band is completed by locals Chic Preston, guitar/ voice, and Tim Ortlieb on drums.
The venerable Hood River Hotel lobby is the perfect venue to see and hear these jaw-dropping musicians up close and personal. Beer and Wines available at the front desk bar. Comfy seating. Good dogs and dancing welcome.
