Raíces: A Hispanic Heritage Celebration
August 29 @ 4:00 pm
Celebrate the rich artistic traditions, cultural heritage, and contemporary voices of Hispanic communities in the Columbia River Gorge and beyond during Raíces: A Hispanic Heritage Celebration at The Dalles Art Center.
This vibrant exhibition features traditional Oaxacan cultural dance costumes alongside artwork by six featured Hispanic artists, showcasing a diverse range of styles, perspectives, and creative expression. Together, these works honor the deep connections between heritage, identity, storytelling, and artistic innovation.
The exhibition opens with the Hispanic Heritage Street Festival on Saturday, August 29, transforming the area in front of TDAC into a lively celebration of culture with live music, local vendors, cultural performances, food, and family-friendly activities. The festival serves as a joyful kickoff to an exhibition that invites visitors to experience the beauty, resilience, and creativity of Hispanic cultures through both traditional and contemporary art.
This exhibition and celebration are created in partnership with the Hood River Latino Network, and
are generously sponsored by Casa El Mirador and Columbia Gorge Real Estate.
Join us as we celebrate the artists, traditions, and stories that continue to enrich our community!
