Olympic Trials Marathon Viewing Party

February 3 @ 8:45 am

The Olympic Marathon Trials are taking place in Orlando on Saturday, Feb 3, and there are a couple Gorge athletes who will be competing in this event. Sarah Reiter and Amanda Phillips are both from Hood River, and if you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing either of them out running around town, I can promise you they are as nice as they are fast. Come cheer on our fast ladies from Hood River, as well as all of the other amazing U.S. athletes who will be participating in this event that will determine who goes to Paris on the Olympic team.

We will be meeting in the beer hall at Ferment. Note that the beer hall space is separate from the main bar and restaurant – just to the west side of the firepit and elevator. There should be plenty of space, so come hang out with the local running community. The race starts at 9am, so we will have the space open at 8:45. Coffee and some light bites will be available when you arrive, but Ferment starts serving brunch at 10am, and it looks delicious (https://fermentbrewing.com/pages/weekend-brunch)

And if you feel like a group run before the event starts, meet at 8am by the fire pit at Ferment for 4 or so miles on the waterfront. For those who regularly do the Tuesday evening group run, the usual route should give you enough time to run, change, and get ready to cheer on Sarah and Amanda.
