Oil Painting: Portraits 2 Day Workshop

Join Portland-based oil painter Stacy Kamin for a two-day portrait workshop exploring the art of painting from both photo references and a live model.

Day 1

Begin with reference photos as you learn to approach portrait painting with confidence. Stacy will guide you through mixing colors to achieve luminous flesh tones, using cool and warm temperatures to create form and depth, and developing expressive brushwork that brings portraits to life.

Day 2

Start with additional photo studies before transitioning to painting directly from a live model. This hands-on session will help you bridge the gap between working from photos and capturing the vitality of a portrait in person.

Whether you’re new to oils or looking to refine your portrait practice, this workshop will offer practical techniques and personalized instruction to strengthen your painting skills.

Dates: Saturday October 25th and Sunday October 26th

Time: 11am-3pm each day

Ages: 18+

Cost: $250 +$40 optional materials fee

Location: Tokki Art Supply Classroom – 208 4th st, Hood River

If you cannot attend a class, a 72 hour notice prior to the start of the class via email or phone is required for a full refund of the class fee. After that there is no refund.
