Mixed Media Still Life

In this fun and welcoming class, each student will have their own still life set up to explore. Instructor Janet will gently guide you through the process of creating a still life from observation using a variety of materials—watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, markers, and ink. You’ll learn how to layer and combine these tools from the artist’s toolbox to add depth, texture, and lively detail to your artwork.

This class is designed for beginners and those curious about trying mixed media, so no prior experience is necessary. Along the way, you’ll experiment with different techniques, discover how each material works on its own, and see the exciting effects that happen when they’re used together. Most of all, you’ll be encouraged to play, explore, and enjoy the creative process while building a finished piece that reflects your own unique style.

All materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring mediums they are especially interested in.

If you cannot attend a class, a 72 hour notice prior to the start of the class via email or phone is required for a full refund of the class fee. After that there is no refund.
