
“Leaven From Heaven” Ladies Bread Making Class

Join local baker Rachel Najjar for “Leaven from Heaven,” a hands-on introduction to sourdough bread making using traditional, time-honored techniques. Rachel creates artisanal, homemade breads and will guide you step-by-step through baking your very first loaf—from starter to finish. You’ll even go home with your own active starter so you can keep creating delicious bread at home!
Class Schedule
Friday, February 6 | 5:00–8:30 pm (In person)
• Feed and learn about sourdough starter (starter provided to take home)
• Mix dough together
• Learn stretch & fold techniques
• Demonstration on shaping your loaf to bake the next morning
• Soup, salad & bread dinner
Saturday, February 7 | 4:00–5:00 pm (On Zoom, from home)
• Bake our loaves together during a live, guided Zoom session
Please Bring (Friday):
• Mixing bowl
• Mixing spoon (wooden preferred)
• Digital scale (if you have one—extras will be available to share)
You’ll Need at Home (Saturday):
• Tea towel
• Dutch oven
• Parchment paper
• Clean razor blade or knife for scoring
