Intermediate Drawing: the portrait

February 17 @ 11:00 am

Join us in this intensive intermediate drawing class with instructor Michelle Yamamoto. She will guide students in expanding their drawing development in portraiture by using an “observational drawing” approach. This will help to create a more three dimensional effect by identifying basic value shapes prior to adding complex detail with her step by step system.

Students will have the option to complete their drawings by sketching freestyle or using the grid system to establish key navigational points to help capture the likeness of their subject.

The main emphasis on this class will be to create drama in the image for the viewer by establishing focal points alongside contrasting details. Michelle will also review with students helpful tips in selecting good reference images to support their future success in their creative journey.
