Hot Waxes & Chill Prizes – A Fundraiser for the Chill Foundation

March 14 @ 5:00 pm

Hello Hood River Community!
We will be raising funds for the CHILL Foundation on Thursday, March 14th, from 5-8pm, at Kickstand & Evo. There will be a wax demo, a chance to donate for a wax on your board/skis, a raffle with epic prizes, drinks, food, and the opportunity to support an epic program with an epic mission!
So…..what is the CHILL Foundation?
Chill was founded in 1995 by Jake and Donna Carpenter, founders of Burton Snowboards, with the goal of inspiring youth to overcome challenges through boardsports. Working with participants from marginalized communities, Chill utilizes the experience of snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, and paddleboarding to frame life lessons that promote personal growth and supportive community for kids who may be struggling with negative circumstances that are holding them back. Chill is proud to offer programs in 20 cities in 9 countries throughout the world and participants range in age from 11-19 years old.
5:00-6:00- We will be kicking things off with Happy Hour
6:00-6:15- Evo will be demonstrating a Wax Demo and teaching tips & tricks on how to wax your board/skis at home
6:15-7:30- Bring in your own board/skis and donate for a hot wax
7:30- Chill program coordinator, Jack, will make a speech about what Chill does locally and we will show a short video
7:45- We will pull the winning tickets for the raffle!
The event will end around 8:00 but feel free to stay and hang for another round until Kickstand close at 9:00.
I’ll be posting some information about the raffle donations and other pertinent info here in this group leading up to the event. We hope to see you all there!
Cheers!
