Soft Heart Creations’ Nancy Skakel has been working with wool for many years; spinning, weaving, knitting and raising wool animals from sheep to rabbits to alpacas. After discovering felting 20 years ago, it became Nancy’s passion.  Beginning with needle felting, she soon branched into wet felting, nuno felting, and ecoprinting; winning awards and having displays in multiple galleries. She has had the privelege to both teach locally and take classes and workshops with several world renowned felters such as Patricia Spark, Katia Mokeyev, Fiona Duthie Flora Carlisle-Kovac,
and Nicola Brown. Nancy has mastered many techniques and methods for bringing her creations to life. Join her to discover the marvelous capacity of wool to take form with silk, linen, and so much more!

Poking a felting needle into a wad of wool can be immensely satisfying.  The wonderful qualities of wool to transform and take shape will warm the creative center of your spirit.  Instructor Nancy Skakel will help you create a small figure entirely out of wool using very simple tools and easy techniques. 
 
Wet and Wooly: An Introduction to Wet Felting a Scarf

You will learn to make a wristband bracelet and a necklace, all out of wool, with materials enough to make more than one.  You will also learn new techniques for making cords.
