Embroidery Basics Watercolors and Botanicals

In this class, students will begin by exploring how watercolor behaves on fabric, using techniques to create soft, abstract backgrounds. From there, students will layer in basic embroidery stitches, combining color and texture to bring their piece to life. Instructor Lily Carey will guide students step-by-step through fundamental embroidery skills, showing them how to transform simple stitches into organic shapes, florals, and patterns. By the end of class, students will have at least the beginning of an embroidery artwork and the knowledge to design and create your own future pieces.
No prior painting or embroidery experience is needed—just curiosity and creativity. All materials will be provided.
