Drawing and Painting the Portrait
February 28 @ 11:00 am
In this two day workshop with artist Michelle Yamamoto, students will be introduced on day one to the principals of observational drawing from a reference image on a grid (optional) capturing the value shapes and key navigation points to gain a likeness of the subject.
On day two, using a limited color palette, students will transfer their drawing onto an 8×10” canvas, and paint is as a colorful value study. Students with more experience are welcome to venture into a more expanded palette.
